I was in Syracuse/Ortigia, Sicily for that storm. Had to move my van at 3am on the Sunday morning because I feared for my life - gale force winds and windsurfer boards blowing around like matchsticks! Once I felt out of danger, it was very relaxing. Now in Taormina and so beautiful.

No way! What do you think of Taormina? we thought it was really pretty and we went to a lovely coffee shop on the main shopping street to people watch for over an hour. The walk up and down to Castelmola was quite a trek but so worth it for the views of Etna. The storm was so crazy but think we were lucky where we parked, it was quite protected during the worst of it! Then the next day we went and parked behind the supermarket for protection haha.

Definitely the best thing to stay tucked up and cosy! We were stopping in Villa Roma Del Casale on Saturday night just gone, and I swear I saw your orange Van driving up the valley! Welcome to Sicily it’s a beautiful place to be.

We love days like that ......i always catch up on chores like tidying the cupboards and having a good clean ....i have a 12v hoover thats fabulous for sandy floors and we live on the uk coast so its always handy to have ......i love my omnia oven .....i do everything in it from sausage rolls to cakes .......we had left over veggies on sunday so i made a bubble and squeak for mondays tea .....we had left over meat to go with it but its enough on its own really........hope it dries up soon for you xx

We are doing a full van clean up day today - organise the garage, clean the cupboards and doing a stock up on shopping before the ferry to Tunisia tomorrow! Gonna feel so accomplished at the end of today. I've never tried anything like sausage rolls with pastry but bubble and squeak sounds lush - might have to do that at xmas this year! Thanks for the suggestions :)

Always amazes me how the English cook fried eggs ,Aussies fry them without any oil or maybe just a tiny drizzle if the pan is not non stick.Very random footage of the toilet,haven't seen that before on any travel vlogs 😀

I never even knew you could cook a fried egg without loads of oil haha - just shows it's how you're taught. Maybe I'll try it next time. Don't worry, the toilet scene was just a morning wee, nothing more! Keeping it real with you Maggie, wees and poos in the same room as one another whether its a rainy day or not! haha

Secret of cooking fried eggs with very little or no oil, is to use a pan with a lid. Quite a lot of oil for you to get rid of too.

I miss forced chill van days 👍 definitely agree with what you said. One question, what do you think about LWB vs XLWB? I’m about to order a van, do you ever feel that if you have a big LWB van and already gone big that little bit extra wouldn’t make a huge difference in driving and parking? But a nice bit extra inside. Is it about 40cm you gain when you fold your bed in or more? That’s a great system and nice seeing it in action on your day to day 🙂

You miss them - Have you sold your van then? Urm, i personally think and XLWB would be too long, especially in some countries like Italy and the islands we visited like Corsica and Sardinia but i've never been on one on the inside to know how much extra space it actually gives you. I think with a good layout and clever design a LWB is plenty big enough for 2 people. Our bed extends 50cm and the extra space it gives during the day compared to a fixed bed is sooooo worth it! We wouldn't have a different bed design now if we ever changed the van.

I wish the weather forecast here was accurate so far told it will snow ❄️ spent twenty minutes defrosting my car this morning, Meeks my family rules if you want to travel in the vehicle you help with the choirs or walk Courts bringing sand in and not helping sweep it out would be a big NO NO the driver is the boss. Sounds like you're wishing for the snow Mark? Crazy man! I guess it's better than the frost on the car though. Courts does help with the chores, don't you worry about that Mark. We have plenty of pink and blue jobs in this van but some of them are a shared responsibility and this time I drew the short straw with the sweeping. Hari OM ...to be honest, that is pretty much how I live now, in my Hutch of sticks and bricks! I am something of a 'one pot wonder' when it comes to cooking. One of my current faves is fresh spaghetti (or other ribbon pasta) cooked just to liking, drained except for a tablespoon of the cooking water, then, with burner still on low stirring in two spoonfuls of Philadelphia (or similar), a dollop of butter, plenty of freshly ground pepper and salt to taste, finely chopped fresh basil and chives and topped off with a sprinkle of freshly grated Parmesan - or cheddar. I may or may not have cooked the pasta with some frozen peas and there may very well be some shredded lettuce or spinach leaves and diced tomato to salad it up a bit. ... or, tonight, I am about to boil some tattie and parsnip to mash together with Stilton and there may ba a stray Brussels Sprout to add to the mix! YAM xx

Ooo Yam these sound delicious! Sounds like you're a bit of an inventive cook as well, i love that. Just look what's in the fridge and bung it all together to create something random and tasty. The Philli pasta would go down a treat with Meeks but not sure we'll find philladelphia in Tunisia unfortunately. We will see!

@@courtsandmeeks No - but you should find Rigouta (their ricotta variation)... or a jarred item called Puck. I used to get that one in Mumbai and a bit salty, but still tasty! Yes, I think I would do well on a Masterchef invention test! Yx
