Good idea blowing the horn. I used to own my own towing business. I was getting ready to back up one day to hook up to a vehicle in a driveway next to a house. I remembered always to get out of the truck and look if you are not sure. There was a little baby that had come out of the house and was standing behind my truck. I was pretty upset at the childs mother and grandfather for not watching but it was my responsibility to look. Never worry about the time it takes to be safe. It is never silly to save a life. Thanks for sharing this with us Tim. Maybe some other truck drivers will watch it.

Damn that sun must be powerfull down there. I still have 18 inches of snow in my yard in nwest wisconsin and probably wont be back in the woods for 3 to 4 weeks. Keep the action coming. Enjoy the videos.

I actually love driving log truck out of all the trucking I've done... Love the smell of fresh cut timber... Only downside is the Mills when they get backed up...same with the ports and everywhere though

Tim, I would like to see you take Cottonwood fishing. I bet he would be griping the whole day, especially if you don't put him on some fish. That would be a hoot. Take care and keep on keeping on.

Tim there is a guy up here in southern WV that sells equipment of different types and yesterday he posted a couple pics of a Timber Jack Model T 2150 if I'm not mistaken and it has a huge tree cutter on it and the machine is a big one also that is probably 15 feet up to the seat in the cab and he said it will run and Operate but it's been setting for a couple years and he will sell it the way it sets or he will get it started and running and make sure everything is fine on it and operating correctly and sell it that way but he needs some inputs on what a value should be on that style machine and I figured I would throw you a comment on here and I can get the pictures of it and send to you if you have any input on it and the guy seems to sell quite a bit of stuff but it's always big equipment and I always hear everybody say they're satisfied with what they purchase from him and that he makes good deals on the stuff... I just know it's a big machine and I might be wrong on that model number but I thought that's what it was anyway

I was wondering if you can get by with J farm tag hauling logs off the farm and do you have to have a DOT number if you stay in the state with a farm tag

How does someone in their 50s, with no experience, break into the Logging Industry as a Driver? My neighbor down the street has been wanting to drive log trucks. He just got his CDL but doesn't have any experience and doesn't want to go OTR. I told him he should bite the bullet and go OTR for 6 months. What would you suggest?
@kevinmcgann97324 жыл бұрын
I think you are right about OTR because no one in their right mind would let anyone with 0 experience get into a log truck. He should start off looking for a local job driving a 10 wheeler delivering dirt or mulch.

Dwight Jones. Yea we use straps on our loads and only put 3 on tree length and 4 on the double. I'm just wondering why it looked like the dolly was facing the tractor when it was up lol

I always wondered how loggers or dump trailers find the places to pick up, I’ll be driving and I’ll see a log truck 1 mile in the woods and i say to myself how in the hell did he find his way back there
@six01playa6 жыл бұрын
I don’t think you could pay me enough to drive a log truck. Definitely wouldn’t make no money if I was driving one. Probably wouldn’t go over 25-30 mph.
