COTSWOLD England WALK from MORETON-IN-MARSH to BOURTON-ON-THE-WATER

Discover the joy of walking the Cotswold region of England with this 4k video of a walk from the town of Moreton-in-Marsh to the village of Bourton-on-the-Water, which is known as the Venice of England.
This video contains a complete description of the walk and shows you the route. This part of the Cotswold is relatively flat. The walk includes such highlights as the village of Longborough, the hamlet of Donnington (including Donnington Manor) and its 'ha-ha' fence, the small and quaint village of Broadwell with the Fox Inn pub on the village green (my favourite pub in the entire Cotswolds), the town of Stow with its historic springs, and finally high street in Bourton-on-the-water.
Moreton-in-Marsh as the name would suggest was originally built on the edge of a marsh or henne in old English. The town was first settled during the British Iron Age (8th century BCE to 1st century AD). The first written record of the town mentions it as a Saxon settlement in 577 AD. Like much of the Cotswold region, the town derives its wealth from the wool trade. The town can be easily reached by train.
Bourton-on-the-water is a very pretty village that is popular with visitors. The town has small canals that run through the village giving it that quintessential Cotswold look. The buildings are also constructed using the beautiful Cotswold limestone. The village is very old, with settlement dating back to at least 4,000 BCE. It is definitely worth a visit. Bourton-on-the-water also has a number of good inns and hotels for overnight visitors, making it the perfect place to stop for the night on a Cotswold walk.
Next to Bourton-on-the-water is the village of Lower Slaughter. It is actually much quieter and much prettier than Bourton if you get a chance to visit. Highly recommended.
Part of the walk from Moreton-in-Marsh to Bourton-on-the-water follows the Monarch's Way trail, which is a classic hiking trail in the English countryside. So come and join us on a great English walk.
