@@laurenwilliams2138 Hey Lauren, we built ours with pressure treated 2 x 4' x 24" s in the corners set into the ground,. rough pine boards make the 4' x 4' base. Skinny strips of pine nailed together into an "L" for the vertical uprights. Horizontal strips tie the uprights together with corner braces. Our tops are semi-curved pine arches. We made a template and cut the four pieces to match with a jigsaw. They're joined together into a short 4 x 4 block. We cut 3/4" dados into each side of the block and camfered the corners on a table saw. We nailed little filler blocks into the dados to "trap" the semi-curve arches as a mortise. We put a square cap block on top of the 4 x 4 and finished it off with a pressure treated finial we ordered from Home Depot. We stained the wood with a mix of roofing tar and paint thinner. You could build out of cedar if you'd rather, or all pressure treated. If you plan on painting, it's best not to use pressure treated lumber.

Also called the ‘genius loci’ Latin for spirit of the place. Some places already have it as a result of good design, or sometimes it’s strong in temples or ancient sites. “Silver is for the kettle, and gold for the furnace, but The LORD is the tester of hearts- Bible” your heart is like discovered silver, dirty and not pure, when silver is purified it is melted over and over, to the point that when it’s melted and glows red hot, it is pure enough to see your own reflection in the puddle, so also does the LORD purify your heart, till HE can see HIS own reflection in it, seek the LORD and be reborn, ask The LORD to renew and restore you, repent and ask The LORD for HIS Salvation for those who seek will find and those who knock the door will be open unto them, no man is good, all are in need of salvation, Jesus died so that our sins will be wiped away and so that we could be made new, seek The Kingdom of GOD for if you would be wise you would be wise for yourself, pick up your cross and deny your flesh and follow the path of GOD, for The Kingdom of GOD is at hand, in JESUS MIGHTY NAME Amen and Amen

You made some excellent visualizations and descriptions, particularly when you we talking about sun exposure. I love the artful language, as it really paints a clearer picture and inspires the imagination of the listener.

Your channel has to be the most beautiful, pleasant and informative experience on KZbin.

Phenomenal! I really enjoy how you explain the thought process behind what you do and not just the physical process. This allows us a frame of reference to help express our gardens in our own way using solid principles from an artistic standpoint. Here in South Dakota a lot of pollinator gardens look like someone just quit mowing their lawn. I am trying this style to compliment my vegetable garden. Thank you for your work.

Really, really loved this! Enjoyed how you incorporated the artistic elements of design! I haven't seen anyone else do that, but it was very practical. Sometimes I get overwhelmed by a blank canvas. I think I will refer to your video over & over again for my new garden plan!

What a great video, thank you. I've spent many hours watching different gardening content here on KZbin, but this is exactly what I was craving. A beautiful mix of gardening and art theory, all while actually showing it all in practice.

The quality of this video is incredible. I like how you've combined the style of last year's documentaries with the style of your previous garden videos. I definitely want to see more of these, I think you're on to something special here (and the length was perfect).

I've been trying to create a cottage garden in my own home and stumbled upon your channel. Anyone who builds such amazing enclosed beds, cares for the earth by recycling old concrete and uses the phrase "Marauding groundhog" must be a kindred sprit. Thanks for the laugh! I can't wait to view your other videos.

I appreciate your style of creating a garden. I want to work with the space, let it breath and live with it so I can grow with it. It might sound corny but it has so much personality and gives so much to the viewer.

This is a stunningly beautiful garden, worked out with careful thought and attention to detail, and brought to life by the talented hand of an artist. I love the way you have broken everything down into 'doable' chunks, and the way you explain the elements which make for successful design. This is so inspiring. Thanks so much: I will be sure to continue following you from here in France.

I miss having a train near me. Keep up the great work. My friend and I watched your videos every time they came out over dinner and we loved them. He died last February and since then I have not been back to the garden. Now that I can do it again, watching your videos gives me inspiration. Your aesthetic is so beautiful. BTW, the animations are new, right? They're amazing and add a new and interesting dimension.

Wow, your comment made me reflect deeply about how precious each moment edited into the videos can be and how much they can contribute to lives of those who watch them. I can only hope to make them worthwhile to become fond memories of happiness. Thank you so much for sharing. And yes the animations are new.

I just found your channel today and I feel like I've stumbled upon a treasure trove of information! I'm from the UK but live in Florida and I spend many, many hours trying to create a cottage garden similar to what I'd find at home. Your cottage garden is beautiful! I'm especially impressed with the obelisks you created and might just try constructing my own! Thanks for the inspiration.

One of the best gardening videos I've seen. I can see why everybody loves this. The choice of "slides" to demonstrate elements of garden design was better than anything I've seen on any major production garden show and it didn't always focus on gardens but places and styles. This was definitely the best way to relay these concepts. The "final" cottage garden was a little too casual for my taste but of course this is just a matter one's own personal style.

amazing! it's really beautiful to see someone care this much about the beauty of their home in a way that is so personal and fulfilling! I'm so used to seeing people simply use their home as a status symbol, but this video really gets to a more wholesome beautiful way of caring about your garden. Gorgeous!!! Not only gardening talents but the ability to share it through an also beautifully shot and edited video!! amazing amazing, I live in an old schoolhouse/shed in my parents back yard and this has given me so many ideas! I don't know if I'll ever be a home owner but you gave me so many ideas for my little garden thank yoU!
