Always liked Patchwork, but never do 2-player games. Looking forward to this one.

The game is excellent. Two player or four players, it doesn't matter. ^^

Depends on what kind of game you want. Patchwork is much better in my opinion, but for people that want something lighter this may be better.

What Tom didn't tell you - perhaps it didn't say in the rulebook he had - that there's rules for playing with small children. I think it's mentions children as young as 3-4 years old. That they can get three to four cats and so on. My girlfriend and I played with her daughter and her granddaughter (8) and they liked it. Her daughter said it was zen-like and you relaxed while you played it. Mind you, they are Muggles when it comes to boardgames. ^^

patchwork for me because it feels so much cleaner as a system

ya, while i like the garden theme and the wheel cart much more in this game, I find this game feels like a lot of mechanisms tacked together.

Looks decent, but having already owned Patchwork, I see no reason to own both. I really wouldn't want to play this kind of game with more than one person. The major thing I don't like about this compared to Patchwork is the resetting your board in this one...I like building and looking at it in the end and seeing my final creation.

They are vastly different. The only thing they have in common are the tiles.

Any ideas when this will hit retail in USA ? Really want it, thanx.

Why are the cats dead? Maybe the cats are just annoying and sleeping in a spot where you can't garden. Have you ever tried to move a sleeping cat? It's like Thor's Hammer, no one can move it.

The cat's aren't dead. Some sleeps while other play. One looks at you. ;)

Not moving a sleeping cat is a classic and cross cultural phenomenon. Muhammad is said to have cut his clothing as to not disturb a sleeping cat.

I could see this being nominated for Spiel des Jahres 2017

when will this be available in America?

Definitely buying this, but it is EZ mode patchwork. Not as competitive.

I think the mechanism is closer to Tangram puzzles than Tetris, but that's neither here nor there... Just a question of figuring out if this is enough of an upgrade from Patchwork (despite losing the time track which I love as a mechanic in anything, but the button economy, while interesting... If the tiles come out in the wrong order can be an absolute pain at the start of the game) to justify the expense...

advice needed: my bother has patchwork, played, loved it. my mom loves simple games, thought about it but don't wanna buy something my brother already has and can borrow. saw reviews on cottage garden, barenpark ect but, allthough mom and i would enjoy the flowers theme and design, they all seem more intricate then patchwork. what do i get her? are there other options, maybe from different producers? ty

this seams nice, patchwork is too much brailess for my taste.
