Hello Darlings! I know this isn't my usual type of content but I was happy to see a lot of you were eager to see this type of video over on my community post! I love gardening and it's not something I usually delve into in my other videos so it was a really nice change of pace pottering around the garden and sharing my upcoming garden plans with you all! I have been filming the process in our backyard for over 1 year, in the hopes I can look back at how far the garden has come. I know our garden still needs so much more, little by little it will turn into a beautiful english cottage garden!
Lots of love,
Sage Xx

Sage, I would love to see a diy video on your glass house greenhouse! I would also like to see a more in-depth video of your garden planner and all the little garden updates you do a long the way (like updates on how your seeds are doing that you've planted, and when you're planning on planting then, etc. sort of like a garden diaries episode)! I would also love to hear more about your nutritious seawood solution to water your plants (is it something you make, or is it something you can purchase in stores). I'm quite new to gardening and I would love to hear all of your tips and tricks and your favorite vegetables, flowers, etc. you like planting in your garden! This was very lovely and I love your videos and your outfit is super cute as well!

Awesome! Gardening is one of my biggest passions, I've bottled so much this season (I'm in NZ) it's so incredibly rewarding seeing all the jars lined up. Just a note though, I ALWAYS wear a mask when I'm handling bagged compost. Always. You can get Legionnaires disease from bagged potting mix/compost and it can be deadly. I'm a bit of a Mother Hubbard 😊

Marigolds, if they grow in your part of the world, are a wonderful addition to a garden for your chickens to eat, They not only add a more golden color to their eggs but provide pest control around the coop to keep out mice and rats. We have kept chickens for 10 years and our once lush green back yard is now a muddy/arid landscape due to our chickens free ranging during the day. Of course we have more chickens than just two, 10 at the moment, so the little buggers dust bath all over our yard but we enjoy the fresh eggs and even sell some in the laying season to help pay for their keep. Plus they are an endless source of entertainment to watch. Would love to see your green house build. I have wanted one for years but have just never had the money to build one.

Another tip for your garden is to toss your eggshells and coffee grounds (although I don’t remember if you drink coffee, sorry!) into the garden during winter so it’ll break down in time for it to be tilled into your soil come spring. I think you can do the same with tea leaves, but I’m not 100% sure so that might be something to look into! Happy gardening! 😊

FYI for anyone wanting to build a bed like this with similar conditions. Buy a hole digger from Bunnings. Use it to dig up the soil, really turn that soil over. Then dump in one bag of your choice, cow poo, soil improver, compost, mushroom compost etc. then really turn that soil over. Add a light watering, with plants still in pots set them out for where you want them, then grab hole digger, dig holes, plants plants in. Another light water. Shove your finger in the ground. If it’s dry, water more. If soil sticks then it’s watered enough. If sopping wet then it’s watered too much.

Good morning, Sage. Seasoned gardener offering a couple of tips. 1- Garlic Chives can be very invasive. Be careful they don’t choke out th rest of your plants. 2- If you know an area you want for future planting.. mulch with layers of cardboard the season before. Come Spring you can apply your limbs, leaves and soul layers right over top. No digging needed. The cardboard will block light, killing grass/weeds and provide a great base for a bed as it breaks Ddown. Garden is looking great! Look forward to more videos and yes on the greenhouse build. Creative Blessings!

When we bought our house we decided to let the garden grow in the first year, just to see what we had. Along the back of our back garden there are 3 blackcurrant and 4 red currant bushes, which seem to always produce double the amount of the previous year. Come July, we start to drown in them! The other problem that we have is entirely of our own making. The back garden also has a greenhouse and we read somewhere that tomatoes shouldn't get wet, so that's where we planted some. Define 'some'. My husband just doesn't have a concept of "that's enough now" and plants too many every year. They've always grown enormous and the harvest is HUGE. We literally suffer from Tomatogeddon every year. All that said: thank you for this video. It has made me look forward to growing season! Even if I'm the one who has to deal with it all in the end...

When your garlic chives flower their little white flowers, you'll be able to harvest the seeds when the flowers die back. I have 3 containers of garlic chives on my patio that have come back for 3 years. The bees love them! I had bee traffic the whole time they were blooming. They also have a protection bloom that looks like a star and has very sharp leaves that will cut you . I trimmed those back. Well done!!!

I need the greenhouse video! This video made me dream about what my future home will look like and how I want a little garden. I’m American and my partner is Aussie, I honestly can’t wait to move to Australia for so many reasons but a big reason is because despite there being 4 seasons there will be no snow to have to deal with in winter unlike where I live. Winter in New York is so dreary and long! I have rarely seen the sun for months, I so desperately want to enjoy nature and warm nights outside again! I just can’t wait to move countries to better my physical and mental health as well 😊

Can't wait to watch it grow along with you. My community has no line drying, no sheds and no garden visible from the street, so I'm confined to one 4 x 4 ft. raised bed, but you've inspired me to make the most of it. Thank you.

I just love your childlike wonderment as you were starting the process of transforming you garden each step and the excitement of seeing something you grew and nurtured grow and ripen into food for the table and the rest reused by composting it. Can't wait to see the construction of the green house I helped build one years ago out of glass panel doors and pallets the roof was windows so it could be opened to circulate the air and two doors on each side could ope and at one end it was a sliding door to get in

You can build a green house by using wood and plexiglass and you could drill holes into the plexiglass to affix screws to the wood to hold the green house up.

Our backyard is getting a huge upgrade this year with the removal of an old, deteriorating playhouse, removal of old, deteriorating garden beds, new garden beds, and chickens, so this was fun to watch! I’m getting ready to start my seeds here in the central US, and our chickens are growing in the incubator at a friends’ house, so thank you for this lovely video as we prepare for this season. ❤
