Hi from London. 👋🏾 also subscribed to your instagram. My SA partner and I are so inspired by you both. I love that although you are loving your homestead, you do not sugarcoat for social media. This is clearly hard work. Strength to you and blessings to you. 😊

Your house is looking great.I am looking foward to seeing the finish product. You can use the excess bricks to make more raised beds in your vegetable garden.

Thank you so much. Fortunately we are still building so we will get to use them. 🤩 then the last bit will be for beds for sure. I have always wanted to try that

Wow it’s looking good. I think I might be starting a saving pot so I can fly out to visit I was wondering why you did not take advantage of the views but I suppose privacy is important

The quality of the homes in SA is A+ compared to other countries. I can't wait to see the end results.

So true, we toyed with the idea to do it ourselves 🤣🤣🤣 but so glad we did not

Are you planning to use a solar panel for the lights?

Hi guys, can you please remind me what website you used to search for land/homestead. I'm sure you mentioned it in one of your videos but I can't find it now. My husband and I have lived abroad now for many years but have decided to return to SA.

Guys, I am looking hard for land, but I won't lie, after hearing that this isn't your dream place it worries me. Do a lot of people get onto land and then see more and better places once in? Will I also get the itch to move .. scary

🤣 Buyers remorse is a real thing. And what's worse in this case is, unlike buying a house that you can see what it looks like and you can even get it assessed by a plumber/an electrician etc. you can't really do this with land. You won't know how it is when it rains, it will be a surprise when the rainy season comes. You won't know how the sun moves unless you stay/camp at the property for a few days. Right now the way our farm is set-up it doesn't allow for a lot of movement and we also don't want to cut down a lot of our trees. our neighbour across decided to build a wall on his property and it cut into the road that we all use 🤣🤣🤣 so trucks struggle to move. Our other neighbour has decided to build multiple permanent structures and they are not even allowed to, and that's a problem. 🤣 There is other weird things that pop up along the way that you think would not bother you but you realise they do bother you. Another big one for us is we need bigger land, we used this one to learn. But we need at least 28 hectares so we can build a sustainable home for our family (parents especially as they are getting older and hopefully our siblings will join too) but yeah... buying land is not easy, take your time and assess the area.

@@millennialhomesteader Thank you so much for the advice. I didn't think of all the unknowns that can happen beyond what we can prep for. Definitely need to have a feel for the land longer than realistically possible. I'm currently in a house with the wrong orientation to the sun and it's regretful.
