COTTAGE UPDATE: ADDING A FRONT AND BACK PORCH

I went through a huge restoration/renovation of my home (in fact it’s still not completely 100% finished yet) inside and out over the past 2 1/2 years. I had a tiny over 60 yr. old brick front porch demo’d and had my contractor build a large deck the full width of my house with a pergola covered with clear acrylic to replace it! I can sit out and still see the sun, moon, stars, clouds, and lightening. I so enjoy being completely dry as I listen to the rain on the “roof”. I have always been a porch sitter so I appreciate your desires to have one. And you got yourselves not one but two!! It is so pretty and I know that while this plan was rather simplistic, you will give it all the cottage touches!! I call my home, “My white Cottage Haven”. I am so happy for you guys!!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤

Listening to rain on a tin roof is a wonderful childhood memory of mine. I hope to be able to enjoy that sound once again as we wind down our projects on the cottage. I also can't wait to be able to make it pretty for all the seasons.

It’s wonderful you got these done so quickly. They both look great. You might think again about the railings. You never know when you’ll need them. I don’t have railings and after unexpected health issues I need them desperately. You’ll be up and down those steps with an armful of baby. Think safety

I think both porches look fantastic and it will be a great help to keep your kids occupied outdoors. I love to see kids playing on porches, it is better than sitting infront of a computer or on their phone or even game consoles, fresh air is great for the lungs it gives you energy and the right amount of Vitamin D without taking vitamins. I love the outdoors it is my little me time. I love it. The cottage is coming along nicely. Maybe those guys can help Nelson build your home too. i know he probably wants to do it himself but he may need a little extra help. Building your own house is a challenge that i am sure he can handle but a little help with Baby #4 might be something to think about then you can have your studio quicker. How wonderful! They did a marvelous job on your porches. I'm actually working on having our back porch redone as previous homeowners never sealed the wood. It's splinter city out there. I'd love to see how you guys get yours set up to stand the test of time. I'm so happy for you, Yami! But I'm sorry you don't have your home depot. You should have moved to Murfreesboro. I’m moving from Florida to Newport, TN and buying to live in a Tiny home..I picked it out today, 21st and head back to Florida to clear our my condo, ready it - for selling and find a place to stay and store things til it’s built! Incredible Tiny Homes is the company, and on utubes with Randy Jones and Amanda, Owners and builders. They have Amish from Kentucky to do a couple of models. I’m so excited and so happy for you to have your home almost ready for all of you and baby on the way! And especially for you, a new studio. I never got around to painting my kitchen cabinets white as I studied your step by step utube, and bought everything to do so….now my Tiny will have custom white cabinets as all the models have. ❤😂 Carolyn. I’ll be between Knoxville and Nashville…close to Dollywood 😂😂
