It has been a tough year up in the North East, too much rain causing havoc with all the Cucurbita, a daily fight against the downy mildew. The Japanese beetles are on everything, fruit and vegetables alike, they killed one of my plum trees and last but not least there has been a explosion of purslane (Portulacaria afra). I know it is one of the plants that contain very high antioxidants and we do put it in our salads and soups, but next year I will have to till the small patch of it that I have deep into the ground to get it back under control. Thanks for the personal observations you have been making in your recent videos , one does begin to wonder when all this madness will end and when we feel alone in the struggle my wife and I always try to remember all things are in His hands and all will come right in His time not ours. We thank Him for our health, our families and what He has blessed us with in this life. Stay strong and as the saying goes "Keep Up The Good Fight"

Hey Joey, congrats on the mower!😃 Had our 50'' (tractor style) w/23 hp kaw. engine for 12 yrs. now and no complaints!👍 Should be the last one you'll ever need 🤔As far as the Cotton goes, I remember we shot doves over some about waist high down in the sands and if you didn't go straight to it, you could forget it!🤣🤣 Have a safe trip!

Pray you get some more moisture in your part of the country. Are you able to do any irrigation? Of course for us without irrigation we could not even grow a disturbance. I am pumping water from 372 ft deep well, with a 5 horse pump. Summer has finally arrived, we are to be well over 100 degrees for the next five days. Sunday being the warmest at 108. Headed out to the farm for the fourth, staying in the motor home. Glad the air conditioning works well in it. Missed Monday night live, had a wild land fire close by, so the power company shut the power off. Finally started the generator and got us back in business. Have a great 4th, be careful and be safe. Pray for our country. Blessings to you folks.

I'm dry too...I'm about 6 hours south of Joey. Even around here a 300ft well is not that deep. A guy here in town told me his is 1200. Mine at the farm which is a little closer to Joey that my house my well is about 600ft.

You would think larger ears from drought corn should in theory be better drought tolerant. This would be because you selected the best ears from corn that made it through the drought and still made a decent size ear so for whatever reason it was deeper rooted, leaves were bigger and a better funnel , or maybe the leaves curl up better to preserve their moisture more? Who knows. That's just my thoughts .

Hi Joey , sorry you didn’t get much rain. I got about 4 teens but we got about a 1 1/2 inches at the farm . We needed it on the pastures. That’s a nice yard toy L O L. Hey Joey, awesome video. That mower looks great. Yes sir if your Hastings Prolific does come out of the drought and produces quality ears, you should save some of it for seed. It will pass it's drought tolerant genetics to the seed and next year's crop with have the same genome characteristics.

Bought my bobcat last year and it sure did cut my cutting time down. When Big Apple Farm supply delivered it they said it would probably be the last mower I'd ever have to buy if it's maintained like it should be.

He has also been doing fire alarms so that was why they went to this school today; they have re done the entire school.

@@JtwesI understand that very well. I just bought a mini excavator to put in some irrigation and clean up around some fields and although I can operate it it’s going to take me some time to get efficient with it. You’ll get the hang of the mower and I’ll get the hang of the excavator 😊

That’s weird seeing a zero turn with a steering wheel. I wish I’d gone with a 72” when I got mine. Although some days a half mile wide mowing deck still would take too long 😂
