Idea to cut down on time when grabbing all the birds to move to pressure wash the cages: Add large doors on each side of each level. With the larger doors you can insert some type of square board about as big as the inside of the cage and have it screw onto a broom stick or metal paint roller pole to herd them all to the other door which can open to a three tier smaller cage that’s just big enough to temporarily hold them. It involves building another cage but I’m not sure how hard it is to grab each bird or if you see that as a good opportunity to look closer at each one for health, etc. Might not be worth the hassle but the thought just just came to me from watching you grab them and put them in the little transporter looking cages. Love the channel. Keep it up 👍🏼

Terry, the thing to stress is how many birds you have and what set up is. Here in Missouri, like Chris, I have to contend with the weather for those birds kept in outside cages. The other issue for time is how many breeders you keep and if you have an excessive incubation schedule. If you set a couple of hatches a week you are in a near constant state of incubating, brooding and moving birds to grow out cages and culling and selecting future breeders.

Can you do a video on what that would look like . Can quail eggs be sold from your home with a sign? I do Not plan on processing them for anyone else but just for my house . But as far eggs for sale ? For hatching or chicks for 4 h ? And if so what wound I charge . Any ideas along these lines would be great. Thanks again . Your a great teacher .
@CoturnixCorner5 жыл бұрын
Hi Eric, thanks for the comment. Every state is different as far as egg sales and required wash and sanitize procedures, so you would have to check with your local authorities. Many states have a backyard poultry plan that allows for egg sales on a limited basis. I am getting $4 a dozen and sell out pretty much every week. I charge $1 per chick per week of age. So a two week old is $2 and a three week old is $3 up to $5 for adults. I plan on doing a video on this topic soon and maybe even cover it in one of our Live Streams.

They are stacking up bad review after bad review on both Instagram and BBB. They have also totally erased their Facebook page and redid their website for some reason. I have a friend down south who's been waiting over 5 months for some geese that she was told have been shipped twice.
