Cougars, on the other hand are just very large the Lesser Cats (Cheetahs as well); basically, an oversized house cat. Lesser cats aren't built the same way. So yeah, it's normal for a Jaguar around the same size to have a huge skull compared to the cougar

Why on earth are pumas not classified as big cats when they are much bigger than snow leopards and slightly heavier than african leopards? Just because they don't roar? Jaguars are apex predators and Cougars are not in the area where Jaguars live. Cougars tend to grow smaller in such areas so not to compete with jaguars for the same prey. Where there are no Jaguars (North of North America and South of South America), cougars grow significantly larger... but they are still far smaller than jaguars when you compare their body weight and jaw size/strength.

@@PierreMcclardy1117 That's where they live and they don't have anything that challenges them. That makes them the apex of all apex jungle predators. Lions don't live in jungles. And on the savannah, they struggle to hold their own against hyenas. Tigers occupy multiple terrains but they don't overlap with Jags. If that were the case, we'd be set for an epic one-on-one battle. Jags don't grow as large as the biggest Tigers but they have a stronger bite force and greater athleticism and a filthy disposition...kind of the honey-badger equivalent of the big cats. Can I get a nod on that too being the first time you've heard that?

It's extremely refreshing when I see dangerous animals like that behave so kindly and sweetly toward each other. I'm glad that there is more to life than just the struggle to survive in a cruel world. I think maybe most humans could learn an important lesson here. And it doesn't have to be about religion or faith or god or anything like that. It's ultimately about the quality of the life that we live here on earth. If every day is just a struggle to survive, find food, make money, capture or conquer a mate, eat, etc.... wow, what a boring life that is! The finer things in life (like grooming your pal) makes living in this world so much more tolerable.
