Saleh, during his first stint, had a significant influence on the players on his defense. It’s fortunate that he will be heavily involved in securing his own player personal. It’s possible that this issue on defense may not be resolved this year. The defense might not rank among the top ten. However, Saleh may 8:43 still be hired as the head coach next season. Why? Because if the defense improves, it will demonstrate his ability to build a team. Therefore, Saleh’s departure next season for a head coaching job doesn’t necessarily mean a great year for the defense. Dre Greenlaw has expressed his desire for a three-year deal and is unwilling to play on a “prove it” year. Dre is aware of the potential for injury, which is why he wants a multi-year contract. All players are aware of the injury risk, which is why they strive to secure the best possible deal this year, as next year’s contract is not guaranteed.

The chiefs had one of the best defenses this year. But guess what. Only one defensive player was named to the pro bowl. That tells me these guys played as a unit and were all on the same page.
