I think one of my biggest issues is how the parents treat every little incident as a huge failure. Like they are constantly getting upset with their kids for messing up and saying they're not going to win because of it. Then the kids end up winning or win in some categories. I feel like the parents should stick to encouragement the kids and not blast them because a routine wasn't as good as what an adult could do/remember

I agree. At that age especially. I mean if a kid refuses to practice and then reckons they can wing it but then screws up- well yes then it's the time to highlight the fact that it is their fault they did poorly (but if they're continually not practising then maybe find another hobby). But if they make a mistake the mothers act like it reflects badly on them, rather than the kid making a mistake.

I think deep down, the idea of pageants is actually kind of fun. It's a competition, like any sport or extracurricular activity. But it's unfortunate that it's a female dominated industry. Society has such high standards for women and girls about how they should look, dress, act etc. It's really unfair, and pageants are teaching girls from a young age that they have to conform to these standards. Not that there aren't any boys in pageants, but I'd say it's about 1 in 50. The fact that people are way more interested in judging little girls by their looks is sickening. I feel like we either need to lower our standards for girls, or raise them for boys.

The mom” she was looking at me more than the judges.” The mom dancing around like a maniac.

I'm seeing a lot of comments about Zander's mom, she did what most parents would do. Don't act like you haven't had self doubt in your kids, but at the end of the day you still love them. Plus, she was tired and she admitted that, lol.

Teaching your 4-5 year old kid to wear skimpy clothing and “shake her booty” for grown people to win a competition and money is so sad. I was so uncomfortable watching that girl in the “Barbie” outfit because she’s a child not a stripper

If you get mad at your partner if your baby gets scared and cries, you have an issue and shouldn't be involved in the pagents.

I wonder what happens to these kids when they get older. Some of them have to be scarred, right?

What drives me crazy about watching these clips is how involved the parents get in the child's routine. Rather it's in a negative way or over the top. I come from the world of dance. You learn your routine, get on stage and perform. Mommy isn't going to help you once you're there. You either do great or mess up. Either one is fine; you're a child and should have fun but if the child can't get through a routine without looking at their mom with pleading eyes, needs a nap because they can't even walk yet or the parent is going to be negative... take your child home! They're not ready/don't want to perform and you aren't ready to handle this :/

What a thing to do to a child! I competed in teen pageants and won enough to fund my four-year degree, but that was my choice-I had to convince my parents! Prayers for these little sweethearts. ❤️
@kelsey23332 жыл бұрын
But how much did you spend to win those pageants? I'm just curious because it seems like many parents spend alot more than they could ever win from a pageant.
@AdaraBalabusta2 жыл бұрын
@@kelsey2333 I agree. We spent nothing on entry fees. I already owned my guitar and my flute, and I learned to play those at public school. My competition clothes were selected from my closet. I wore makeup, but the natural look was in style. So much pressure is heaped on young children for not a lot.
