One additional Genie mission might be interesting: Angola (which has about 80 MiG-21, MiG-23, Su-22, Su-25, and Su-30 aircraft) are attacking their neighbor Zambie (which has fewer than a dozen MiG-19 fighters supplemented by an archaic S-125 air defense system). Expecting a pitiful defense by obsolete aircraft with no modern missiles, the attackers have their fighters in an impressive formation above their heavily laden attack aircraft with cargo and transport aircraft several miles behind. Unbeknownst to the Angolans, Zambia know the attack is coming. Zambia prepositioned one of their hopelessly outmatched MiG-19s in a camouflaged tent. As the armada passes overhead, the MiG powers out of its concealment, takes off from a makeshift runway, and fires a Genie to take out the Attacking MiGs and Sukhois from behind then turns to gun down the Angolan cargo and troop aircraft. Minutes later, another MiG-19 uses a Genie to take out the main invasion force of T-62 and T-72 main battle tanks. The Zambian Army then moves into position to defend the border against any remaining attacking units and refugees.

I met a guy once who flew the F 106 and was trained for the Genie. IIRC the launching profile was more complex than I would have thought . Again, going from memory, the idea was to start a loop and launch as you were pitching up. Then, you would have your tail pointed to the detonation so that the A/C would absorb a lot of the radiation. Then dive to get speed to separate from the blast effects.

I would love to see what era of 6 ship aircraft could defend against a massive multi-prongned WW2 German bomber raid, coming from multiple directions. Would it be 1950's with the F86/F102/A4 skyhawk maybe/F11/F9F/F104/MiG-17/MiG-19/MiG-21/F84 1960's with more reliance on missiles ie starfighter/F5/Mirage 3/Lightning/F4/Draken/Viggen Or maybe 1970's Harrier/F15/Mirage 2000/F14/F16/ Obviously shortlist aircraft you think will be best. Rules, Scramble for intercept, destroy all or as many bombers inbound (No escorts but they fire back), no refueling or rearming fight till everyone is winchester, pause server. Score it up, try next aircraft and so on. Obstructions: each bomber wave is coming from vastly different directions testing aircrafts speed and efficiency, as well as pilots grasp to balance all these as well as the mission at hand. Respawn on takeoff errors or usual stuff, if you are shot down or Fox4 you gain 1 point for your aircraft plus 1 if you take out enemy. Clock stops when all fighters are winchester, however many bombers remain is the score If the bombers make it to London city and drop ordanance you gain 2 points per bomber that drops. (remember lower is better) Which fighter performs best? and this could be funny af
