I wonder how far gameplay mechanics apply to power scaling because while you are generally pushed to kill bosses with upgraded mystical weapons/spells, nothing outside of skill is stopping the player from killing them with whatever their starting weapon was. So do we ignore this factor entirely or include it as a potential lowball?

The thing is; lore wise the tarnished is actively collecting and utilizing all forms of power throughout the game; for example Gameplay wise we can only activate 1 great rune Lore wise your tarnished has them all active all the time. Gameplay wise we can kill elden beast with a stick; Lore wise we used the rune of death/destined death to do so. It goes on. A real lore accurate tarnished for the sake of scaling would have access to all great runes, spells, and would be max level on all stats. Individual player skill shouldn’t really affect scaling since that’s gameplay vs lore right there. The same way a level zero Kratos could beat the god of war games but lore wise he needed power ups to take down Olympus.

@@zorro8027 The thing is, besides the use of Destined Death being confirmed, all the other things a Tarnished uses is not really confirmed, for example in cutscenes (including the use of the Destined Death) the armor and weapons sheathed are entirely based on what you have equipped. Also due to the multiple endings, a Tarnished could have entirely different arsenals from the required quests for those endings (Yes technically you could just do all quests to unlock all endings, but a lot contradict each other with one even completely overriding the others). Even the Wolf armor used in the all the promotional images (apparently considered the canon armor for the Tarnished) is from part of a completely optional side quest in a side quest, and not at all connected to any of the endings.

@@armoredsoul2076 Once again; while gameplay does hold an effect as to what you see it cutscenes; the lore aspect is completely separate. It isn’t proven that the tarnished obtains and uses absolutely *everything* available in game; but I was referring to the things you’d find on the general path to completing the game. While it’s questionable as to what quest lines the “lore accurate” tarnished would complete, it’d be safer to assume he’d complete the quest lines that didn’t directly effect the ending of the game. As for the wolf armor being the cannon set used by the tarnished; I don’t know if that was the confirmed cannon armor the tarnished uses. I’m fairly sure that’s just the armor they chose for the tarnished on the promotional material; plus, even if it is the cannon armor set. That would only imply the tarnished started the game with it and didn’t obtain it by doing the quest. As for the different endings; while that is true and we don’t know the canonical ending to elden ring; it is also safer to assume the ending was the generic “normal” ending. Aka you don’t do anything special and simply go for slaying elden beast. Which it would be true that if we take that assumption the tarnished shouldn’t have access to frenzied flame, but for the most part the tarnished would still hold high caliber incantations and spells and other abilities such as destined death, the moon, scarlet Aeonia etc. etc.

There is a very simple way that Goku wins all of these fights, and that's by pushing all of the enemies off the edge of the map or by clipping the enemies out of the map. All Elden Ring enemies can succumb to fall damage and dying out of bounds, and since Goku can't take fall damage because he can fly this is a very easy victory. There ya go, Goku just cheeses the Elden Ring bosses with Kamehameha and flight hax. GG2EZ.

If the conceptual death is in the sword, it's not gonna do anything because you have to swing it and hit him. Not only does that give us another match up to think about other than all the same stuff people always think of (vs Superman, vs Goku, etc.), but it makes me feel better about all the times I died while playing it that even Goku might struggle lmao. Great video, although it’s worth mentioning that Godfrey prime might be the strongest amongst the Demi gods given that many speculate he was the one who beat the shi, out of placidusax and ripped his other heads off. Not only that but the time we fight Godfrey is when he’s much weaker and basically a grandpa the axe kinda resembles that he’s basically at half his strength I believe. He also basically killed all the fire giants and everything that threatened the golden order. Hell even radahn respected him meaning it’s def possible that in his prime he outscales both radahn and Malenia. He also pretty much held back while beating up plasidusax given that his true strength can only be achieved by killing the lion

I agree with your conclusion, in that it's probably a 'maybe'. But i think it's much closer than you probably think. The reason is very specifically Radahn. The stars that he is holding at bay are actually at war with the land between and implied to be intelligent beings serving the outer gods. Making it possible to scale him to galactic levels of strength. Though ive even seen people wank him higher, i dont think they hold much creditability.

Very good video which i think covers pretty well Elden Ring. For how you presented it i mostly agree however i have some little contentions here and there, for a example i don't really think it was implied or stated that scarlet goddess Malenia is comparable to the dragon (if there was i'm all ears tbh); for the afterlife there's multiple elements backing it up having no concept of time like with Goku saying time flows in the mortal realm and not the afterlife or characters who have their bodies in the afterlife being stated not to age (which would'nt be possible if there was time) and the living world being called temporal by Shin in the anime, so the Afterlife being timeless is pretty consistent; i also do think there's arguments for hakai being way more broken like it being stated capable of affecting arale who *litterally* survived getting deleted from her narrative but that's up to your interpretation. And that's really it tbh. Edit : I've just seen way higher arguments for Elden Ring which tbh you could argue the same for dragon ball due to what's used being similar to a statement in a guidebook

For example, Hit's Time Skip explicitly doesn't work on those stronger than you. At the same time tho, Zamasu's immortality (which I do consider immortality to be a hax) _can't_ be overpowered (if it could then Goku would've easily done it bro's _way_ stronger than Zamasu). It's weird, but I don't like the people who say Dragon Ball characters can overpower any and all hax so long as they're stronger than the user of the hax, when it is blatantly contradicted by the manga and anime.

Goku’s problem in taking on the beings in the Lands Between is his lack of hax. It can definitely be argued that he has the physical stats to contend with the strongest creatures it has to offer, but his inability to destroy things on a conceptual level is really holding him back. Unless he can acquire runes to strengthen himself like the Tarnished does then he’ll be hard pressed in defeating the likes of the Elden Beast

Rahdan is absolutely not anywhere fucking close to star level. you could wank (YES WANK) him to mountain or even continental level if you wish because the only "star" we have proof that he actually altered is a meteorite that punched a hole in what was apparently already fairly thin ground. (by thin I would say tens to two hundred meters of stone, impressive, but not really "mountain level" by real world standards) I'm not going to calculate the destructive capacity needed for this, but even if I did, that does not automatically translate into controlled destructive power at rahdans fingertips because that's not how his power works as far as we can tell. He uses magic to hold back the "stars", which is inherently hax if you look at it realistically, and none of that actually tells you anything about his ability to cause destruction nor of his durability. he uses his SWORDS to fight, and picks up boulders which he then chucks with gravity magic. The steel is not strong enough to fucking hurt even saiyan saga goku, the rocks cant possibly be thrown fast enough to hurt him, because they would disintegrate at those speeds, not to mention him literally being able to fly, which very few of the bosses would be able to contend with at all. Rahdan MAY be able to move at supersonic speeds. MAYBE. but he certainly shows no signs of supersonic reactions at all, so that is apparently assumed, and DEFINITELY doesn't have the ability to move at supersonic speeds instantly from a complete standstill, which is also something RANDOMLY attributed to him as if being able to build up momentum is the same as being able to instantly teleport. by this logic a fighter jet is able to fly directly upwards at mach 2 the second the plane is started. And that's ignoring the rest of the fucking nonsense that the video is about. assuming destructive power of everyone is immediately relative to those below them, which is ABSOLUTELY untrue, melania beat rahdan with HACKS. Literally infected the man with scarlet rot, but yeah she scales off of the vague statement of "stars" when its clear that the world of elden ring has no concept of what an actual fucking star is. And the dragon being having "inaccessible movement" speed because it has a pocket dimension? What? fuck no that's dumb, that's clearly hacks as well. even if we assume that the making of that pocket dimension inherently means that it has that same destructive potential (which it absolutely does not no matter what "scaling guidebook" or other dumb nonsense has to say) that only makes it large building to mountain. It's also entirely possible that time manipulation and pocket dimension creation is just a natural byproduct of the physical/magical properties of its scales, and thus has no baring whatsofucking ever on how strong the dragon is. I fucking hate when scalers take everything so fucking literally and ASSUME so fucking much.

While the game doesn't feature this as a gameplay mechanic, within the universe the only way the Tarnished would be able to harm the Elden Beast is while wielding the reality/time bending properties of a weapon imbued with the scales of Dragonlord Placidusax. Beyond this, the only way the tree properly burns and the tarnished is able to get past the impenetrable thorns is by releasing the rune of death once more into the world. Which could be argued.... to have to have a weapon capable of distorting space time in hand and the concept of death reintegrated into the world to even get past the front door and hit the Elden Beast a single time for any damage whatsoever is pretty cool; so I suppose the Tarnished is pretty strong as well in many ways.

For example: Powerscale How Strong Gohan ssj4 was in his fight with Xicor in dragon ball AF and other characters in that fan made series. Or, powerscale how strong Vegeta’s brother Rigor from dragon ball new age was and other characters in that fan made series. Dbz goku could utilize IT, Kienzen which cut through buuhan in the manga when base goku used it on him. There's also solar flare, his kiai techniques and he is able to amp his kamehameha up. Goku can also sense malice and has a form of precognition or a sixth sense. And there's the sb. Super goku would have access to all that plus god bind, ui, clones, healing, sealing, hakai, barrier creation around himself and others and he's able to use telekinesis on the barrier. The barrier can also tank attacks from enemies out of goku's weight class. And goku's able to create a giant version of himself out of ki that physically hold an enemy down allowing goku to get free hits off.

Some of the high tiers like Gwyn, The chosen undead, The ashen one, the soul of cinders and Slave Knight Gael all have multi scaling as the dark souls multiverse is composed of an infinite amount of interconnected parallel timelines and parralel universes being sustained by the first flame.

Moving in timeless space would qualify for higher tiers of speed, which the tarnished scales to and Elphael has the top two scailing of the zones in Elden Ring, and it scales above Farum Azula, so she even weakened scales to that, so Radhan does as well, and imagine them as their peak. But I really liked that you made the difference between the ability of hakai and conceptual death

1) The Otherworld and the Kai realm have multiple statements of them being beyond space and time and not having the concept of space and time, so if you can give Elden Ring characters inaccessible to irrelevant speed based on a few statements you can give that level of speed to DBZ Goku as well. ( I know you said that people could if they wanted to, but I just wanted to hammer the point home and show that inaccessible speed scaling for DBZ Goku is better than what people would think ) 2) Goku has fought a conceptual being, technically. Kid Buu was stated to be the idea of evil. Goku also has conceptual scaling with Otherworld not containing the concept of space and time and Jiren transcending time. 3) You can also argue that Spirit Bomb is a conceptual attack, due to it being the only thing to completely erase Kid Buu and due to Kid Gohan being able to deflect it. 4) DBZ Goku by the Buu arc has 4D ( without counting time as a dimension ) to low multiversal scaling so I think he could tank Maliketh's blade. 5) Dragon Ball Super Anime Goku has consistently 5D to infinite 5D to 6D scaling without counting time as a dimension, so he should be able to take Maliketh and the Elden Beast pretty easily.

I believe Zeno is capable of dealing with concepts since they can delete practically anything. The Haki Birrus uses while powerful is limited to what it can erase. Based on the established story, I do not believe Hakai would work on a concept. This is somewhat called into question by Gowasu introducing various concepts to the Humans and those concepts evolving. So it is hard to say if the Hakai would work or not. It might just be a matter of if Goku is above the power of his opponent.

In order for that tier to work, there needs to be time involved to break, “movement beyond linear time” or at least moving any finite distance in negative time. 7:18 - Finally something correct, yes bare minimum. You can argue at the most Uni but that’s up for interpretation as well as potentially Uni+ (4D), which is even less grounded but it’s arguable.
