Could Movie Superman Defeat Movie Thor? - DCEU vs MCU. By far one of the most discussed VS battles in history is Thor, the Asgardian prince, VS the Man of Steel himself, Superman. Although it's a very complicated topic when the comic book iterations are involved, the movie versions are certainly easier to scale due to there being far less source material to go off of. So, who is stronger, who is faster, and who is the better fighter? I decided to go over feats, scaling, statements, and the like to determine which one of these gods amongsts mortals would come out on top in this legendary bout!

Just because a character "dodges" a photon based projectile doesn't mean they are reacting or moving at the speed of light. For example in the clip he showed of iron man 3, Killian is dodging iron man's blasts because he can see iron man raise his hands and begin to shoot. He just has to be faster than the guy shooting, not faster than the projectile itself

Reality of it is that thor was getting blitzed by quick silver. Who is about 2-5x faster than speed of sound, in the MCU. However, thor has very good travel speed feats, as a result of his weapons. Kinda like how a pilot can travel 1k times their actual speed. But they'll never be able to fight at that speed

@@kanyerahming in BVS Wonder Woman‘s sword was able to cut off Doomsday‘s Arm who was far stronger than Superman at that time. I don’t think Amazonians have access to a type metal that could pierce Kryptonian skin. Wonder Woman’s sword as well as her shield, lasso and gauntlet are imbued with magic.

Technically that scene of quicksilver getting shot was the same quicksilver who fought none stop at Ultron drones and using his punches on their metal bodies and I am sure it hurts like hell and he didn't take a break or a moment to catch his breath so that was a very tired quicksilver that couldn't react to bullets Note: someone commented me that the air was also getting thinner because the city was getting higher

Bro before he caught those bullets he was well rested and in the carrier chilling before he saw Hawkeye in danger, he wasn’t exhausted or tired, he wasn’t just fast enough…. We can also see the scene when Hawkeye shot the glass quicksilver was standing on in the avengers mansion, the bullet wasn’t statued or anything, it was moving in exactly quicksilver time, moving at the speed quicksilver moves. And that also tallies with the fact the director Whedon said quicksilver was just as fast as a bullet… so of course it’s clear he couldn’t outrun bullets

And for the statement you gave" he can destroy continents by byfrost " he can channel it only to travel within it and as you saw in infinity war... The bifrost didn't cause any damage as he landed in wakanda. And as for his speed the things you defined as " things with light speed " actually they were just with speed of rockets tier. the Bifrost wasn't used to its full destructive potential. When it was employed, it was aimed more at creating a portal for transportation rather than as a weapon. Additionally, the Bifrost's power can vary depending on how it's wielded. In Thor's case, he likely used it to quickly get to the battle rather than to destroy anything. The focus was on the characters and the battle rather than showcasing the full destructive capability of the Bifrost.

And you thought or simulated the scene like Thor was thrown in the neutron star. I'm gonna go through everything so, be read carefully. First the energy a neutron star emit can be factorized by mass, age , diameter and others . In our case we don't know age or mass so we'll go for diameter. The neutron star in nidavellir was surrounded by the Dyson sphere (if you don't know what a Dyson sphere is a set of rings that will help harness the energy from any kind of star. You can search it on Google for more info.) and it was very big as you saw in the movie , when it was inactive it completely made the neutron star dark. I'll take it as 50-70% the volume of the actual neutron star + the Dyson sphere. approx... the neutron star should be 7- 12 km in diameter. and an average neutron star is almost 1 million degree Celsius or 1.8 millions degree Fahrenheit. and logically thinking this neutron star in infinity war have lower diameter than average and also, the older a neutron star the colder it gets. (bc neutron star don't produce any more heat (u can google that.)) also thinking that nidavellir is Asgardians weapon crafting place and Asgardians are very old races, we can conclude that that neutron star was at least 10-25% colder(remember it's a dying neutron star). since the Dyson sphere will take all the energy from the neutron star and channels it to one point, we can say there's almost 750,000 to 1 million degree Celsius. and sure Thor took almost all of it. DCEU Superman vs MCU Thor (With Proof): 1: Superman was able to separate the mother boxes using his sheer strength. They form something called The Unity, which turns the planet's population into parademons and the planet itself into a firey hell world. So you could scale this feat to planetary level. 2: It was confirmed by Zack Synder that SteppenWolf fought the original Doomsday and their battle resulted in the destruction of a moon. So SteppenWolf can survive the destruction of a moon but can’t stand up to Superman’s punches. 3: In Zack Synder’s Justice League we learned the Kryptonian metal can with stand its core of being heated up to 3,500,000 kelvin. The centre of our sun is 1,100,000 kelvin. In Man of Steel Superman used his heat vision to take down a Kryptonian ship. So his heat vision would be 3x times hotter than the sun. 4: Superman has high durability. He took attacks from Faora-Ul, Nam-Ek, General Zod and Doomsday. Superman took a nuclear bomb to the face and it’s believed that he would’ve taken it no problem if he wasn’t still under the effects of kryptonite that Batman used on him. 5: He effortlessly beat the Justice League. Superman was also moving so fast he made them all look like statue’s except for Flash. 6: During his fight with SteppenWolf he just made him look stupid. Superman was moving so fast that SteppenWolf couldn’t even land a single punch on him. 7: During Man of Steel we know that the world engine is a Kryptonian terraforming ship. Just by landing it was able to annihilate mountains. So that means it’s made out of something that can withstand a mountain destroying impact. Not only did Supermam destroy the world engine he did it while WEAKENED and standing under a gravity beam that was single handily destroying the Earth. Superman was in the middle of that beam and he was at ground zero. He was taking all that force as well as all that energy and overpowered it. 8: SteppenWolf’s Electro Axe had absolutely no affect on him whatsoever and his axe is said to be stronger than Wonder Woman’s sword. 9: Superman could easily just statue Thor during the entire fight. He could easily disarm him of Stormbreaker and use his freeze breath to destroy it. Just like he did with the Electro Axe. 10: Thor May have taken the full force of a Neutron Star but he would’ve died from it if Groot didn’t make the handle for Stormbreaker. Thor’s weapons are like 80% of his power. He’s nothing without them. 11: Thor’s Battle IQ is completely useless. I mean look at General Zod. He said to Superman, I was bred to be a warrior trained my ENTIRE LIFE to MASTER MY SENSES. Yet Superman still beat him. 12: Also Thor has absolutely no experience in fighting Kryptonians.

I mean he’s the GOD OF THUNDER not some regular human. 7: When Gorr trapped Thor, Lady Thor and Valkyrie on some planet Gorr fought Thor and stole Stormbreaker off him, so it seems to me Thor is can be very easily disarmed. 8: In Thor Love & Thunder he was getting his ass handed to him by Gorr and Lady Thor had to come and save him, otherwise he would’ve died. 9: In Avengers Age of Ultron he was again getting his ass handed to him by Ultron and Vision had to come and help him. 10: This isn’t got to do with his weapons but I can’t ignore this one. Here's one aspect you left out, that is super relevant to how Superman is Superman in The Man Of Steel version. There is something equally relevant that Kal El has going on with him that is just as profound, if not more than all of Thor's experience. The Codex. All of the genetic potential of Kryptonians and peak of functionality in every possible task in a very ancient and advanced society was held within the codex. They genetical programmed and predetermined a kryptonians destiny of what they would be by biologically hijacking them to be hyperfunctional relative to certain archetypal societal tasks. That entire codex is bonded to Kal. I think this implies for sure, that Superman isn't just Superman because of his powerset. But because he is genetically predisposed to be the best at everything essentially by the entire codex being bonded to his DNA. Think about it. Zod was a Kryptonian trained to be a soldier and genetically engineered to be the ultimate soldier, so we're his minions. They also had armor and Super weapons, Aircraft. And Superman beat all of them. I always took it as it was because the unlimited potential that Clark stored in his DNA, unilateral of his Kryptonian Powers. Superman takes the Win because of The Codex.

I agree with the result though I disagree with some feats. 1 Him able to throw Zeus' lightning bolt and piercing his chest doesn't make him after or more powerful than him. Remember Zeus here was not serious and pretty ridiculous hence not operating at his peak. 2 Hela wasn't throwing daggers faster than the bifrost. If you're in a plane moving at light speed and you throw a ball, will it be moving faster than the plane?, No. The bifrost acts like a tractor beam in which you can only move at the same speed as its attractive force. 3 Him withstanding a force of a neutron star for 4min,20 sec is both impressive but also low showing as that same feat nearly killed him if he didn't acquire stormbreaker on time. 4 Zeus was afraid of the Nekron sword which could kill any deity which means we can't scale gorr's strength feats based on the sword. Also Jane foster(thor) faired well against Gorr which make his strength feats not that impressive as he also was fighting on par with Thor most of the movie. 5 Since Stormbreaker isn't a worthy based weapon, there's a possibility that Superman can and will use it against Thor just as Thanos did. 6 MCU characters have speed inconsistencies throughout the films.

I can tell Superman would win due to the difference of their fights. For example, Superman and Zod destroy much of a city including several sky scrapers. Meanwhile Thor vs Loki is contained to the top of 1 building. Superman fodderized his team while Iron Man and Hulk were both able to fight Thor well enough, even show superiority in certain ways. Superman dominated Steppenwolf who could argue would beat Thor. Etc

For starters, the DCEU Snyderverse movies go out of their way to create spectacles of damage and destruction to present the character's feats and power in a clear and overt manner. The MCU by and large, only do this when necessary. The entire style of of the movies and how the feats are presented are different. So there's a meta element before we even get into the lore itself. Speaking of, Zod and Clark were fighting the way they were in a no-holds barred, fight to the death, clearly going all out and Zod in particular was making a point of causing great destruction (or caring very little about it). Thor vs Loki in Avengers meanwhile was 2 brothers fighting each other in a glorified squabble. Neither wanted to kill the other and not only was Thor weakened in Avengers anyway, he was holding back immensely. This very video showed the source so I won't quote or cite it again here but in Thor 1, Thor strikes the ground in Jotunheim so hard that it destroys and utterly collapses an area that is 100 times the size of the Grand Caynon. With 1 single blow. The ENTIRE CITY Zod and Clark were fighting in would fit in an equivalent area many, many, many times over. Moreover, Jotunheim is massively larger than Earth and the area destroyed by Thor was referred to as a continental shelf. Thor also broke the Rainbow Bridge in Thor 1 with 10 swings from Mjolnir during his fight with Loki. The Bifrost is capable of containing and channelling energy that can destroy a planet as that is precisely what Loki was gonna use it for. Jotunheim no less which is (again) multiple times the size of Earth. Yet Thor shattered the Bifrost in 10 blows. 1 blow in Ragnarok. This is the same Thor who's fight with Loki was "contained to the top of 1 building". As I said, Thor was much weaker in Avengers but he also made a point of explaining to the Avengers and Coulson that he was ashamed that his previous appearance on Earth caused much destruction so it's clear he is holding back while there as well. Since (again) we KNOW he is capable of MUCH more. Iron Man was also getting stomped and even against a weakened Thor, the only thing he did was ruffle Thor's hair a little - even after a massive power boost that Thor himself gave Tony by accident. Thor was so never trying to fight Hulk properly either. Instead trying to talk and reason with him the whole time. The point here is that the context of the fights are massively different. You're argument is based off of them being comparable when that's just not the case. Much of that context can be summed up by (as much as rhis phrase gets erroneously thrown around these days) Thor was holding back massively most of the time. It's also completely unarguably that Steppenwolf could beat Thor. How on Earth did you come to that conclusion?

If you saw no other feats of 2 men and one destroyed a wall with a punch but the other didn’t, the one who destroyed the wall would look stronger. MCU has more ridiculous anti feats such as Thor needing 2 hits to defeat an Ultron bot, or Thor and Gorr fighting against a car and not breaking it. I can’t recall such low showings for DCEU Superman As for the Clark/Zod fight, Zod wasn’t holding back but Clark was. He didn’t want to kill Zod. The problem with considering Thor weakened in Avengers, is that he got the jump on Iron Man and Hulk. So, pretty much evens out tbh. I don’t remember feats of TDW or AOU to put Thor above his Avengers 1 feats. The Jotunheim strike seems outlierish. Thor literally could have one shot Sokovia, Thanos army, etc if the feat was consistent. Maybe Jotunheim is physically weaker than Earth. Aquaman, Cyborg, Wonder Woman 3v1 couldn’t beat Steppenwolf. Cyborg’s blasts can casually cut down several buildings. Damage output similar to Thor’s lightning. Aquaman and Wonder Woman have similar striking strength as Thor when it comes to how far they can launch someone. Steppenwolf stayed conscious after Superman punches but Thor got KOd by some Hulk/Thanos punches. Steppenwolf armor couldn’t be pierced by WW or Aquaman weapons but Thor and his armor get pierced by seemingly every sharp weapon used to attack him.

I’m pretty sure Thor wins this fight. He’s has the clear advantage in AP and durability, and overall hax with his lightning magic that he can fire either from his weapon or omnidirectional from his entire body while unarmed, his control over the bifrost as a projectile blast could be a threat too. Superman only has a speed advantage which is arguable, his heat vision can be countered or dodged by Thor, and his frost breath wouldn’t do much of anything IMO compared to the frost powers and extream temperatures thor has dealt with. Thor is also clearly the superior fighter skill wise, not only having thousands of year’s experience, but in overall technique and battle IQ. The odds of him finding a way to win is higher than Superman doing the same against someone he can’t simply overpower which would be the case here.

Great video! To explain Hela throwing the daggers faster than the bifrost though it's kind of like this, she's already going that fast, so it's easy for her to throw faster than that. Think of throwing a baseball inside a moving car that's going 60 mph, you barely have to throw it to get it moving at 65 mph. Thor's feats on Nidavaliir are crazy, and nothing Superman does in the Snyderverse films comes close. Moving rings of that size within the gravity well of a neutron star is a bonkers strength feat, and tanking the entire power output of that same star for a full minute is mindblowing durability.

A lot of Superman's cited feats are nonsense, especially when he's interacting with mythic objects and using that data to extrapolate physical limits, ie lifing a magical book with infinite pages does not imply he can lift infinite weight. It has infinite pages because it's magical, not because it literally has that much mass, but plenty of people will argue this feats sets an infinitely high strength limit for Superman when that simply doesn't follow logically.

Thor is my favorite Avenger, and I have loved the MCU for the most part of my life. But I'm sorry, DCEU Superman takes this. Of course power levels are inconsistent between movies (and I'm tempted to say Thor 4 isn't canon, it's just silly for the sake of being silly). But there is nothing indicating Thor can move at super speeds, other than when flying. I have seen the same movies you have, and I don't buy him reacting at the speed of light. The MCU clearly showed Quicksilver move at super speed, but no other character. Other than possibly Spider-Man's reaction time (when his spider sense works). Thanos fights Iron Man and Cap, whose speeds are absolutely human (especially the former), and uses the exact same speed when fighting Thor. Thor is never seem to dodge or blitz, in a manner Cap or Iron-Man can't. Superman would fly (or walk) circles around Thanos in that fight. Thor is very strong, but none of his raw strength feats seems to match a Kryptonian. Tanking "the full force of a star" is by far his most impressive one (although it almost killed him), and that makes me believe he wouldn't be too hurt by Superman's heat vision. Unless Superman kept it up for long. Thor exploding the city in Sokovia was by igniting the vibranium. IMO DCEU Superman mid diffs MCU Thor, with an added "I'm not impressed" after being hit by Stormbreaker/Mjölnir.

I think scaling Thor and other MCU guys to be FTL in combat is really problematic when quicksilver is shown clearly on screen to be orders of magnitude faster while being like hypersonic (if we are very generous) in combat. Even Captain America scales to Thor and Thanos combat speed and he can’t outrun a fast car. I think Cap. Marvel / the Destroyer’s lasers both act more like plasma blasts with mass anyways, and should be thought of as such. Even if we treat them like light, these characters are not consistently this fast, it’s an outlier.

Him dodging destroyers beams can also be explained by aim dodging, the destroyer isn't exactly subtle in charging it's beams.
