@NeilLewis77 And how well has that "sell" worked for Moyes, Van Gaal, Mourinho, Ole, Rangnick, and Ten Hag over the past 11 years? It hasn’t. Craig touched on it but didn’t go too far with the subject matter. But one of the biggest problems for manager after manager at United since Sir Alex left is they constantly have to make do with squads from 2-3 different managers with players they don’t want. But they aren’t actually given time to drill any type of system into the team because the press is all over the coaches from Day 1 and they aren’t actually allowed to develop their own style. Particularly with playing squads that are given far too much, far too soon and inevitably quit on managers to continue collecting their massive bags of money while the manager leaves. The United job is increasingly not that attractive because it’s a job set up to fail.

For example Zirkzee - works and runs around hard, but is not Man U level starting center forward, he's about a 72 out of 100 in old fifa (the game), that's great for... They (Man Utd) aren’t signing players to suit Ten Hag. They are just making pressure signings to keep the fans quiet. Too many of these signings do not suit each others style of play. They will never be a coherent team. They may have the occasional great game, but you can field the same team a week later and they fail. This is due more to the style of play of the opposition than anything to do with the quality, or lack thereof, of Man Utd.
