Lol you are not wrong. I know the Keyblade could open any door. I just looked at that specific part from a gameplay perspective instead of a lore accurate one. I figured in epic Mickey with some doors you have to make them fall over instead of unlocking them. So in my head I figured the doors actually just couldn’t open from rust or something not necessarily because they are locked, which the Keyblade could open.

I think Sora’s Keyblade would act as the paintbrush. Remember the Keyblade isn’t just a Key or Blade. It can adapt to any world Sora enters to match that realm’s magic and aura. So most likely Sora’s blade would change into a brush type weapon he could use.

One detail that I would want to add in is that.... while it's not known to Sora at the time you are placing this (or known to us until later games), Sora has multiple hearts inside him at the time you are placing him in. There's his own, Ventus's, Roxas's, and Xion's... seems like a bit of a missed opportunity to not have someone (maybe the Doctor) at least express confusion over seeing something that indicates that Sora has multiple hearts inside him.... with Sora shrugging in response since that's news to him too.

Even without paint and thinner in his kit, technically speaking Sora could still utilize both by parrying any projectiles shot at him that are made of either of them in battle. Wouldn't doubt that he'd also get a Keyblade based around Oswald and the paintbrush at the end of this adventure too

This was a fun video. The only little flaw in this plot would be that Epic Mickey had a time skip at the start before Mickey (or Sora in this case) could even go and fix their mess. So I imagine this would be Sora from 2 at the start thinning the town sculpture by accident and then either at the end of 3D or in the middle of 3 he would get kidnapped by the phantom blot and get wrapped up in this plot. Also I can imagine maybe someone like Xehanort or Xigbar coming in and goating Sora to use the darkness so this world could still have the power of Paint and Thinner. It would just be called Light and Darkness to befriend enemies or to destroy them. Also, I can imagine Sora being in his beta design in this world for that added forgotten vibe.

here's the one problem in epic mickey there's a huge time gap between the thinner disaster and the events of the game, enough time for th world to actually become a wasteland and for everything to settle in the way it is by the time he gets there, remember the thinner disaster happened at essentially the finalization of yen-sid's project

My only solution to this would be if Sora accidentally dropped the bottle onto the wasteland and then a time skip happens (maybe after 3d but b4 3?) Is when he gets kidnapped and taken by the phantom blot into the wasteland. It's not perfect, but I think enough time would pass for all the problems to arise and for Sora to fix his wrongs. I can also see Xehanort or whatever popping every once in a while to guilt trip Sora for all this mess. Maybe even tempt him into using darkness to get all this done with. Also, I'd like it if Light and Darkness for Sora could work like Paint and Thinner, at least for the bosses.

One problem I noticed before ten minutes in, Small Pete only sends enemies after you because you didn’t retrieve his shipping catalog, so he would either establish that making Sora aware since he can’t enter gremlin village, or just not and thus just not have a reason to start the fight in the coliseum, and I’m pretty sure Sora would find the catalog just to find out what was going on with Pete.

So based on the lore synopsis for Sora arriving at the wastelands, rather than getting KH1 Sora, it seems more like Post-Chain of Memories/SUPER Early KH2 Sora, which also works pretty fine. So by technicality, due to the placement in Sora's lore, some KH2 references and details are still viable and applicable.

Great vid! I love how you made it very clear this would just be a cake walk for Sora (especially if we use future variants of Sora hes a force to be reckoned with) the only thing id say i had a problem with is him giving up his heart since personally I think the Keyblades beam would actually be able to defeat the Blot my reasoning for this is cause Sora used its beam to defeat Xehanort in Kh3 showing it has offensive capabilities (I dont think he needs Donald and Goofy to really use it offensively considering he tried to do it by himself before Donald and Goofy jumped in and gave it a boost in power) other than that small nitpick that honestly doesnt really matter this was really well done! Not even that, actually. In KH2's finale, Sora serves Xemnas a plateful of Keyblade Beam. Sets his HP to 1 and stuns him for an endless amount of time. (honestly that's where the fight SHOULD have ended, instead of us having to finish it after the fact, similar to Xehanort in 3.)

Depends, start of adventure Sora? Cooked without his mobility options. Every iteration sweeps in combat he just needs those story progression gated abilities like High-jump and Glide. There probably will be some gates in his path but Sora with the right kit he could basically fly over everything, especially if flo-motion is involved.

🤔Hmmm, rather than Sora. I think Wasteland as a potential world in a Kingdom Hearts game would better visited by either Kairi, Xion, and or Namine. Partly cause I(like many others) would love for Kairi(and maybe Zion) to get her own game, but also because it’s honestly a better fit for these three than Sora. As a world meant for the Forgotten, Xion can greatly relate to the inhabitants of WasteLand, and while it wouldn’t be quite the same for Kairi. I feel that like Sora, Kairi could become fast friends with Oswald, Ortensia, and Gus. As for Namine, she would make an ideal welder of the Magic PaintBrush. Which Yen Sid could lend her, perhaps as part of Nadine’s own training to become a mage like Yen Sid, Merlin, or the Fairies. Though maybe remove/switch out the Peter Pan Characters and have their visit set during the events of “Epic Mickey 2”, with Mickey having already done the first adventure there already.

I mean, he did fight Gods, an all powerful Genie (in the Genie state), etc. Then, if you add in sora after DDD or KH3, then nothing will stand in his way with the power of awakening and extra strength, beating multiple Titans in a row at the beginning of KH3 before he even grows his strength back

I want to break something down the blotlings and blot are immune to high temperatures this can be seen in epic mickey two on the devil side of rainbow caverns when you jump on the head of a blotworx and move the lava walls if they go over them they are not injured and I believe the freezing them would be impossible the only other way to beat a blotling without the brush would likely be to call upon the guardians which are these wisp things made up of paint or of thinner in game you can use them to attack the blotlings and they are basically the soul of the land hence the name guardians. If we wanted to give sora the straight up ability to hit them with a keyblade I believe it is possible as the guardians represent good and bad in other words light and darkness so it is likely that they could imbue themselves into the keyblade like a blessing although it would likely only be paint. Next I would like to point out that in multiple sections you need to use a pump to fix or break something using paint or thinner and well in those cases you are kinda softlocked. I am not saying that it isn't impossible for him what I am saying is that he would likely get stuck in multiple places throughout the journy.
