to be fair, "square" is a technical term here, he's referring to a 1:1 aspect ratio. There isn't a term "rectangular" with respect to aspect ratio (since all aspect ratios are rectangular) so it makes sense to say "square but with more vertical pixels" given the context.

Been using my pair for skiing. I usually wear bone conduction headphones and bring a gopro that I rarely use. Anything dual use instantly gets priority for me. The ease of recording has allowed me to capture some fantastic moments that I would have missed fumbling around with a gopro. Only gripe is the limited duration video clips that they implemented to prevent overheating the batteries strapped to your face.

The concept is terrific. I like the soft case that charges. I like the fact that your viewfinder is your eyes. No more lining up the camera before you begin. Hopefully that is any lens manufacturer not just supplied by Rayban, as my prescription is not exactly standard. I would need better stabilisation and fewer compression artifacts. In the US the AMA banned action cams from being mounted on helmets for race events. Everyone would use chin mounted gopros on their helmets for dirtbike events and then post the races. So if you are at an AMA sanctioned event then sorry you cant use a helmet mounted cam. This has meant we've all transitioned to chest mounts which suck because now you arent looking where the rider is looking and sometimes you get the handlebars in the way. I'd love to see 100%, Scott or others take this idea and mount the cam into googles as it would get us back to real POV recordings.

Hi there really cool review, it's cool to see how this performs, but in my experience and by mixing two of my favorite hobbies MTB and FPV drones, if you want to have an easy wereable tiny camera that you can put literally anywhere, has practically no weight and has almost gopro capabilities, you should go with an insta360 go2 or 3 instead, it has really nice stabilization, nice battery time and video formats, it even comes with a magnet and a necklace to wear it and keep your hands free, you can shoot vertical or horizontal and you can 3d print tpu cases that you can put anywhere while protecting the camera even on your googles or mtb glasses. And if you want a budget one you can go with a "runcam thumb pro" or a "Hawkeye Thumb 4k" that is the same thing but cheaper, but you would need a powerbank to run them, but have infinite battery , stabilization in those is from a program called gyroflow, hope this gives options to anyone, this would cross off the list anything you been looking to do with the ray bans
