Yeah...in regards to the civil population, we've now been at war constantly for 18 years. There are SOOOO many trained combat vets that would be easy to mobilize. Also, our national guard has plenty of combat vets. Add in Federal troops, the fact that the Canadian army is mostly at home and can mobilize to push from the north, and that GB would also have plenty of subs in the Atlantic to be called on...we'd have the threat contained, and possibly eliminated, before our soldiers over seas are even called back. Not only that, but our non ex military civilians with semi auto assault rifles are still usually more trained than other country's military. And, we can do easily pull into our forested, mountain, areas that we could legit attack from any area with militia.

Never understood why people bring up tanks, or jets, as if though Raytheon, Boeing, General Electric, and any number of other military industrial complex entities would be maxing out their production factories to put weapons like the Javelin or even the swedish NLAW which are utterly ripping apart Russia's armored forces (something that was widely to be considered the most powerful tank force in the world. Any weapon system the military uses, would get in to the hands of militia groups all over the country in the advent of a invasion. Canada would never allow a hostile force to land. Canada and the USA have the longest peaceful border for a reason, so to get to America from Canada you have to land up north then march all the way south. And of course Canada and US troops would fight the invaders the whole way down. In fact, I guarantee that the Canadian leadership would inform the White House immediately of any bribery attempt. And of course by landing in Canada you just invaded Canada. Canada is a NATO founding member, which means you now have the entirety of NATO after you. Good luck getting through the American and Canadian militaries, never mind the rest of NATO. Canada is an ally, has been for a very long time, and has no plans on changing that anytime soon.

@Ralph Goober not once was a sea battle mentioned, because if there was one the US would win, you don't have to beat the Navy to land military forces, you just have to get in and out before they can sink your transports. Given the logistical issues for having air coverage, the likely hood of and invading military having adequate air cover is almost nonexistent. Now given the United States "gun nut" culture, the probability of Texans having a firearm that can handle LAVs and alike is very high, and given the easy a makeshift rocket launcher is to make along with the rocket itself, tanks aren't much of a threat either, not to mention IEDs

ChockyLab, do you think Canada is safe from invasion because they're nice? The United States is the only reason they have and continue to remain safe. They rank 3rd in the world in their oil and gas reserves. Though no fault of the citizens, they find it difficult defending their own homes and families. But yes you might consider moving there if you can be a productive member society. They don't have the same Free Ride system we have in this country.

@@averageordinaryguy4080 I’m not saying we wouldn’t get invaded because we’re nice, but because of our geography, and obviously the 🇺🇸. ChockyLab - Hockey, Music, History , please tell me more about your "free healthcare for all"? I thought Canadians paid a substantial amount of money for health care through a variety of taxes-even if they don’t pay directly for medical services? It is very nice that you want to welcome immigrants, especially lower income ones so they will be able to receive this same "free healthcare". Who's going to pay for their "free healthcare"? I don't mean to dictate what goes on in Canada and if the majority of Canadians are fine, then good for all. In the U.S. we have immigrants who have entered our country illegally and are eligible for all types of public assistance. If you're not aware of the burden that has been placed on France, Germany, Italy, and the United Kingdom you might want to do some research. Canada is a beautiful country with great people. I hope for you and the rest of your country it stays that way.

Weapons can be heard, seemingly fired in every direction. Every so often a "yee-haw" followed by an explosion. Still far from sight of the enemy. About sea ports, Los Angeles/Long Beach are surrounded by mountains. There are only 5 highways out of the region and one goes through USMC Camp Pendleton. There are only 3 main railroad routes into and out of the greater LA Basin. These can all be easily blocked with explosives. The moving inland, there are multiple mountain ranges to get past to go further inland. As for Seattle/Tacoma. they are inland. Not on the ocean. They are on the Puget Sound and invaders would have to go through the Strait of Juan de Fuca. Which would lead the ships right past the main west cost Canadian navel base the around the corner to the main US west coast submarine base. Just sinking a few enemy capital ships would effectively block this port. Mines would be very effective. San Francisco is on the San Francisco Bay and the Golden Gate is even narrower. Mines would close this off right away. Vancouver is out as it too is inland. Vancouver only has 1 pair of railroad racks going inland and 1 pair going to Seattle. Portland is like 90 miles or so from the ocean. Surrounded by mountains as well. San Diego's port is in a bay and to get to the port facilities requiring taking the main US Navy Base. San Diego is the most militarized place in the USA. Their only chance is to invade by taking a Mexican Port but doing that means they lose the element of surprise. Which they would not have anyway as their 10,000 ship fleet would be spotted by satellite anyway and while at sea I can imagine that nuclear weapons would be authorized. Just not going to happen.

It's true though. Strategically. The other seaside areas are unlandable, or are so heavily populated that civil panic would be a logistical nightmare, and then transferring equipment from the sea to the inland side of the cities would be another nightmare...... Texas is one of the only areas that has decent access really. Despite the higher percentage of people willing to actively defend their homeland, the total numbers of active opposition would be about equal to that of the coasts. And the terrain and culture of Texas would allow the enemy better opportunities to fight insurgents without killing as many noncombatants, so less issues diplomatically as well. And it would take about 8 hours longer for a cohesive land response from the US military in Texas than in the East or West coasts. Air responses are about equivalent for any location. Even the logistics of the US being able to send the entire North American based force to Texas is about equal to our ability to transfer all the forces to the West coast or all of it to the East, so that's about equivalent as well. And for fleets, the fleets would have the longest time to concentrate on Texas vs anywhere else (except for focusing at Alaska, but that's outside the scope of what they are talking about here really) because of the oceanic currents, our normal operating theaters, etc.

@Taylor N its estimated roughly 30% of Americans own firearms, though of course they probably own more than one firearm, that hardly represents the number you suggest. In this day and age, yes you are considered a couple of dorks, back when the 2nd amendment was instated, there was a real reason for civilian gun ownership. Nowadays, they are next to useless, as to any act of war would most likely end in Nuclear armament. I wont deny there are arguments for owning a gun but most Americans treat guns like a toy, so they are not taken seriously.
@paullucas75044 жыл бұрын
@@themysteriousstranger7774 I can't even begin to explain how wrong you are. There's a reason we've had nuclear bombs for almost 100 years and have only actually used them once. If things went nuclear it likely means the end of the world so yeah nuclear weapons are not really likely. A well-armed militia, which America has multiple based on the sheer amount of weapons in the country, could defend a country from threats foreign and internal through guerilla warfare and simply knowing the land and how to best utilize it to there advantage. If all these bunch of dorks with guns took down 1 person with them that's at least 100 million people that could be taken down and that's being conservative. And the 2nd Amendment was NOT made so we could defend ourselves from thieves or murderers. The real reason the 2nd Amendment was added was to stand up against a tyrannical government like the Founding Fathers did with the British

Man this video has got me amped up to hit the range this weekend. The world doesn’t realize that buying and trading guns is a favorite past time in the US. We’re even loyal to our favorite gun-shops and websites like BudsGunShop and CheaperThanDirt. I’ve bought and sold countless firearms and I’m only 36. Those not from the US probably don’t realize that a lot of us essentially invest in firearms like gold as they hold their value so well so they eventually stockpile. Many of us have a personal armory and will be more than happy to help train up and arm our neighbors. Imagine all the veterans providing guidance and leadership. It’d be like 9/11 times a billion in the anger, rage, and responsiveness of our citizens. You guys got me looking again at finally getting a Barrett M82A1 for my collection and doing some plinking down here in south Georgia.
