The lyrics on this album are their best. In Absence and Firstborn still gives me goosebumps. Also I really love Thomas clean vocals, it sucks that he is no longer in the band. And the guitar work so technical, so intricate and almost always very weird based on their official tabs

Great reaction video, i had to take breaks with this one as I am a light mood! Very powerful sound.

One of my fav SP albums. Firstborn always gets me once you look up the background on the song.

One of the best Metalcore albums ever made. Also, Steve, some of the lyrical call backs in this album for a long long time SP fan was on par to that of your reaction to Euclid. Great upload as always.

This is their best album as far as experimentation and sound variety. Was there for the release and I was so mesmerized by this project

The first line of 'The New Eternity' gets me everytime. It's so in your face to prepare you for the subject matter this album dives into. I appreciate this album and Everything Was Sound for how they actually discuss world issues, of grand scale and also of the individual. I do think their later albums show growth musically, but I also don't feel like they have as much 'importance' and are more so for the music than the message. These albums will always be special to me and I'll always be a fan of Silent Planet. I wish more musicians would use their platforms to generate legitimate conversations about the world we live in.

It's so funny to me how Steve just really dislikes the spoken word-ish parts as that is one of my absolutely favorite things about SP. So powerful

It just shows how talented the band ar, that the their greatest attitude (and for me, what sets them apart from other metalcore bands) can be the least enjoyed part of the songs and their still seen as an amazing band.

I think that is the product of discovering the band’s recent work then going backward. Falling in love with their new sound means you may not be as inclined to the older sound, whereas older fans who fell in love with the older sound with the spoken word may not like the newer sound as much since it lacks that aspect. I came into Silent Planet during the Iridescent era, and while I do love the old albums, I tend to favor their newer sound (Iridescent and Superbloom)

If you didn't know, Garrett has a Masters degree in psychology and Bachelors' in English and Philosophy. That's why he uses so many big words lol

@selenzr6339 he spent some time as a therapist for young people too so has ends up really down dark rabbit holes lyrically. See Nervosa for example.
