TBH, if I could currently justify spending that much on one watch, and it had to be a Yachtmaster, I would go for the 42mm yellow gold on oysterflex. The titanium is very nice though. A real subtle slightly under the radar flex

Funny they don’t mention the price. £39k on the BQ website, £27,200 over list or 3.3x RRP. You’d be bonkers to pay that. Like all the other 2023 releases the offered price will deflate - production is limited, so not RRP but prob £10k over. According to P Thorpe watch market hubris was fuelled by those amateur ‘greedy flippers’. Uh huh, sure.

I don’t have an issue with Rolex really, hardly their fault demand for their product exceeds supply (although not so much lately). A lot of ire is directed at ADs but it’s not easy for them to allocate in-demand watches; why should someone who’s never bought anything from them get a steel sports watch? It’s not 1995. I’d like the Titanium YM and am happy to wait until I get one from the AD, as I have for my other watches.

Intriguing new direction for Rolex going for titanium - will have to see how this one checks out in reality but the price is way up there for what you’re getting and the out the gate secondary prices are completely bonkers. Then there’s always the Tudor Pelagos for a fraction of the price of titanium is your thing.

I buy new, from AD at list price and tax free because I always export. Otherwise I don’t buy. It is as simple as that. Watches are not that much of a dream that I would go crazy to get any. I could react differently when I buy a pre-war racing Bugatti though…

It will never approach list. It is getting cheaper though, and I think it will settle at 20-25K, when a lot more of them hit the market. I believe they will be a bit like the steel Daytonas, where demand will always outstrip supply, because I think they just won't bang them out like Subs. I'm delighted the prices are softening, because it will be more likely I'll be allocated one eventually. I put my name down for one on the morning of their release, and I'm optimistic I'll get one with 3 years of that date. So, fingers-crossed, I might have one in two years. Let's see.

I own the Omega Seamaster NTTD, it is my first Omega and my first titanium watch. I don’t regret buying it at all _ it’s a stunner _ and now I am considering exclusively buying lighter watches than the ones in stainless steel, ceramic or worse; all dead heavy and soft precious metals. I have seen that Omega has made two titanium calibres, I hope that this trend will gain more traction as shaving a few grams through the movement and its rotor got my full attention. I’d pay for that.

its a beautiful piece and i wouldn't say no to it, but the light weightless would bother me. if anything is heavy made of metal to me, it always ,meant it was quality so i gravitated towards it

This would be my first Rolex unless they release a titanium Submariner during 2024. I would only buy from a Rolex AD at list price to get it VAT free because I export abroad. I have done same for all my watches. One thing though. The manufacturers specifications quote 95 grams for the Omega Seamaster NTTD whilst 100 grams for the Rolex. The Rolex may give a false impression that it is lighter because of the bulkier nature of its traditional bracelet vs the Milanese wowen titanium which does not look and feel as bulky…

What would be the issue with the ceramic bezel ? Do you think it may shatter as it may be knocked against the mast or the spinaker pole whilst setting up or jibing ? I did sail / participated in regattas with dinghies, windsurf and yachts and I think the depth rating of a Yachtmaster should be identical to a diver but that’s me… I am curious as to why the downgrade to 100m vs the Submariner’s 300m 🤔
