Cool watch, but the extremely and unnecessarily low production numbers of it annoys me. It's as if Rolex is going out of their way to upset their customers and real watch enthusiasts. It also encourages flipping. And, the lack of a Glidelock clasp on this watch is malpractice. Rolex should supply all of their sports watches with the Glidelock at this point.
@sinjinadams28628 ай бұрын
I think one thing we've learned over the last few years is that Rolex doesn't give a f*ck about it's customers! They just look at us as suckers because it doesn't matter what they do, we just come back on our hands and knees begging for more watches.

YM 42 is my favorite of the Rolex. My wrist size doesn't lend itself to the more dainty Rolex offerings, so I can really appreciate the 42mm. I don't love titanium, and I prefer the gloss dial of the precious metal versions, but if the titanium were available at retail, I might choose it. The secondary market has clearly lost the plot though. Why would you pay more for the Ti version than for one of the two gold options?? Makes no sense.

I've wanted this watch forever. I asked my AD, 2 years before this watch released, that I wanted it. And when it came out. No call. I thought there was no way in hell that anyone requested that watch before me. But... they gave it to an even more high roller than me I guess.

Cool watch for sure. The great thing about Rolex is that you get the same, fit finish and quality whatever watch you buy. Even a simple Explorer or an Explorer II are manufactured to the same quality as their most expensive watches and as such are terrific value on the grey market currently. You can buy both for the cost of a GMT Master II, so that’s exactly what I did.

Bingo! The Rolex dealer realises that Stainless steel and Precious metal Rolexes are difficult because they have ceased to be day in, day out watches. The answer is a Pelagos. It's an amazing watch, using the more beautiful titanium, and it's so tough. Eventually the average Rolex customer with start to understand the benefit of this watch. It is the future! It's the best solution.

Some advice. Please show images or clips of the watches you're talking about. Quite a dull watch otherwise and difficult to follow what you're talking about. Also, why show a 360 video from the Rolex website if you have the watch there in person, would make much more sense and better viewing if you filmed the watch much more closely whilst you explain the design features.

This is an absolute Home Run for me. Titanium is my favorite watch material. I've been dreaming that Rolex would do this for years although I was hoping it would be with the Submariner. I'm still hoping for that. Maybe one day it will happen now.

Man have the times changed. I remember during the Pandemic how gray market dealers disparaged Chrono24, and how these prices aren't real, how they are inflated, and you shouldn't put any stock in Chrono24! Now David is breaching Chrono24 on his channel. Bob Dylan was right, "the times they are a changin'".

The Pelagos 39 is a strange watch. It is very light and kind of insubstantial. I really wanted one, had several tries, but never liked it. The FXD wears quite small, and feels great. The 42 Pelagos also wears well, and doesn't feel like the case is 42 mm.

Obviously you don't know the watch. The precious metal watches, on man made straps have a problem with balance. They always feel like they're falling off your wrist. If you're on a boat, your always moving, and pulling things. With the unbalanced nature, you're forever banging it on things. And with WG, it gets destroyed in a matter of days. Titanium is so much more balanced. And the wear is less and there's an element of self healing in the metal. It really does work. Obviously if you go full metal, then it's better. But I have experience of a Pt Daytona. And that is so heavy, it starts affecting your whole body movement and posture.
@shawnmartin13068 ай бұрын
@@verynormalman I own one and you have no idea what you are talking about. The white gold is mixed with palladium and platinum. So it does not get destroyed. Also I hate rubber straps. The white gold is balanced perfectly. The clasp is white gold too which gives the watch perfect balance. I know you have never tried the yacht master or any oyster flex bracelet on. There is a reason people love the oyster flex bracelets. You have no experience with these watches. As far as titanium they do scratch. Try getting scratches out of titanium. I have 42mm Tudor Pelagos blue dial. Love the watch but yes it has desk diving scratches on it. I have other titanium watches same thing. As far as which is better on a boat why would I wear either? If I was a fisherman on a boat I would not wear even a 5k watch. Nobody is buying either of these watches to work on a boat. I would just wear a beater watch or a Gshock. As far as it being balanced just go to a Rolex AD that has something on an oyster flex bracelet. You will understand immediately what I am talking about. It really not a rubber strap. It has carbon fiber in the rubber to give it more flex. The inside has rubber pieces that help it fit super comfortably too. But the balance is perfect. I bought the 42mm Yacht Master white gold over the day date. I thought that was my grail watch until I tried it on. No adjustability killed it for me. Ended up with the Yacht Master. My only complaint is I had to buy a palladium wedding ring to match the Rolex white gold color. It is very unique and doesn’t match with white gold or platinum wedding rings.
@verynormalman8 ай бұрын
@@shawnmartin1306 I see the problem. You're a watch man, with a watch that is about being on a boat. I am a man with a boat, who needs a watch? Get a boat, then you'll see my points are very accurate. A boat is a frantic place. Movement is vital. Drinking a cocktail, on a balcony doesn't really test the balance of a watch, as I described. Your message could have been kinder, and you have jumped to conclusions.
