The movie is not Liberal vs Conservative. It is Liberty vs Authority. If an autocrat/fascist/totalitarian figure assumes power, regardless of if they are left wing, right wing, or populist centrist third party, if they start to blatantly violate the constitution or outright suspend it, both the Liberals and Conservatives have ground to ally with one another. It happens in other countries, specifically those with parliamentary systems, where ideologically opposed parties will form a government in opposition to radical elements. It actually happened in Israel not too long ago, but ultimately failed.

there are other indicators that hint to the current political environment, but I prefer to call it a fictitious movie based on a made up story line, I would hope it stays clear of increasing political tensions, they are tense enough already.Someone said it could be a warning, or predictive channeling to a bleak future, I hope it's neither and just an entertaining fictional movie

An easy way to make Texas and California unite in some kind of coalition is for Washington to enact a law stating that all imports and exports must go through an Eastern seaports. Right there you have a catalyst. The loss of jobs, the loss of money and the increased taxes on goods could/would start the fire. Also the President running for a 3rd term is against the Constitution (22nd Amendment) and would be like throwing gas on a fire.

Many people believe that California and Texas working together is far fetched and ridiculous. I actually see it being truthful. If during the chinese civil war, factions hated each other, but when Japan came into the ring, they put their differences aside and fought against the Japanese Empire. United States and the Soviet Union hated each other, but put their differences aside to fight the Nazis. The Nazis and the Soviet Union hated each other, but eventually put their differences aside to conquer and split poland. Theirs been numerous of times in history where people have put their differences aside to fight against an existential threat. Texas suceeding by itself will be a lost against the government, California succeeding by itself will be a lost against the government. Now both nations succeeding and working together, now you have a chance. Especialy with other nations coming into play. For the record, the reason they broke away was due to the President running for a third term. This illegal break in the constitution caused many states to break away, declaring the president illegal and unjusy. The biggest states are California and Texas, though with differences in political scale, they decided to pull their resources together to help one another in defeating the government and restoring back a true Democracy for the US.

This is some dangerous Art. Here for it. ALSO: The Texas Cali thing makes sense....if youre not seeing the world through only political news. California, Texas, and the states in between, do have a fair amount of people...but more than people, they have LAND. In a ground war, the land its self is key....the populations on top of it come and go. That land is privately owned, as well as a fair amount of federal holdings. Privately owned land is usually held by conservatives. So....while LA and San Fran, and Austin - and to a lesser extent the labor class of Silicon Valley - are loud proud lefties, the MASSES of ACREAGE surrounding those cities is still full 'red state' realness. Do not get it twisted. LA and San Fran would likely have to wall themselves off, while the enormity of Californias rural areas would be held down by wealthy private militaries and whatever cartel forces remain from marijuana grow operations in northern Cali and the North West. If you look at electoral maps of the nation by county, you'll see exactly why California - as a state, not a philosophy - connects seamlessly with Texas Nevada Colorado, Idaho, Washington, Oregon and the Dakotas. The Blue Team are densely populated Islands on a vast, thinly populated Red Sea. If the war goes offline and on the ground, It makes sense for most of the west to coalesce around the access and resources provided by the Sacremento and San Joaquin Valleys, the Colorado River, and the millions of acres of existing ranchland. The existing owners/operators of land and industries in those areas, to say nothing of the existing folks living between those areas - far flung desert dwellers and mountaineers - are not San-Fran Soy Latte Folks to begin with. The first thing in war is to protect ones own - land resources family - and as much of the west is already owned by corporations or the mega wealthy, it makes sense - perfect sense - that those barons of cattle, timber, oil, and tech would circle their wagons, load up their existing ARMORIES, double their "security forces' and start putting up fences. The next war is the war between town and country. And 'country' has the land advantage.

I just know that past movies/shows with a 2CW theme have had a very strong pro-left slant, and the fact that Hollywood approved this tells me it could as well. And to be fair, TX and CA joining forces isn't impossible, for instance if the republicans in CA get utterly fed up and overthrow the democrat leadership and turn the state red or if a third-party president gets elected and manages to piss off both states enough that they set aside their differences to fight a common enemy.
