A Mania 2 would somewhat defeat the purpose of Mania. "A romp through the history of 2d Sonic and a look into the future." A Mania 2 would really just a level pack. A true successor to Mania would have to be a look back at a different era of Sonic. More then likely the Adventure era, and if they're going to do that, I'd recommend they do the "hire this man" thing and add Lakefepard on board, maybe with Gears for Breakfast to handle alternative playstyles?

@@kevin_kevinson It's very much a celebration game, announced at the 25 anniversary, all the returning stages, the game is filled to the brim with references. It was literally announced as a return to the classic style. I'm not denying that it's a good game, I fucking love Mania. Doing Mania 2 and it's just more levels. Denies what made Mania important.

What they call it is semantics, new 2D sonic game based around momentum and entirely band new level themes is what people actually want when they say "Mania 2", in other words people want Sonic 4 but good

Couldn't disagree more thats a terrible idea leave adventure Sonic to the modern 3d era Mania 2 could include and revamp a ton of classic stages not used in Mania, let's not forget act 2 of the classic stages were completely brand new never seen before on top of 4 new zones they could easily include 5/6 new zones.

If they made a new 2D Sonic game like Mania even if it had the same devs, they probably wouldn't call it Mania 2, like how they continue a lot of gameplay styles without making direct, numbered sequels, I still doubt it'll happen quite the way we want but still I wouldn't use that to discount it
