QUESTION: If we nabbed 9 off Essendon to have 7,8,9 what would your approach be? Try to trade up? Leave as is and pick best available? Or split it for later picks in the teens?

Surely 3 and 14 pick for 7,8. Lalor be gone by 7 i reckon the way everyone's talking about him lately. He is the most promising kid, the match winner, other mids could be accumulators. Need the point of difference sort of mid. I would say if eagles don't agreed, then go for kangas 2 and 22, and assure Lalor, I know it be too generous to kangas but considering the depth in draft and importance of Lalor, Saints should do it.

I'd want to pick up as much young talent in the draft as possible. Won't be long before a good chunk of the draft pool will end up in Tasmania's pocket. Not to mention, there is a lot of hype around the draft class of 2024.

I reckon we stick with our draft hand because there isn’t much difference in talent between 1-8 pick the best available it’s either Smillie, Langford, Reid or O’Sullivan two of them will fall and will be waiting look at the other drafts Phillipou was 10 and Wilson 18 they know what there doing now let’s goooo 💪🔴⚪️⚫️💯

Pick 9 too would be amazing. Then trying to trade into the top 5 is enticing, but at what extra cost? Getting rid of too many later picks this year and next in these trades might not be smartest thing, but then again, those later picks can be extremely hit and miss. Either way, we can see that SOS knows how to play this time of year very smartly, so I trust he'll cook up something delicious

If we jagged 9 I’d be taking 7,8,9 to the draft, top 10-12 kids are said to be even and solid! Get some top 10 picks in before tassie gets given priority access and takes control of the next couple of drafts

I agree, Saints should move for Kennedy of Carlton, more upside and would cost less. Macrae best years are gone, and would cost Saints more. I'm really concerned Saints are not looking seriously at Kennedy. Makes more sense! I really can't believe Carlton are offering up for virtually nothing???

I'm thinking keep 7 and 8 then split 9. I heard the top 8-10 could all be pick 1. So identify a few players then get 2 mids over just the 1. Then whatever we split 9 for filled the gaps around get another def and fwd see what happens. Unless my info is wrong some1 in the top 3/4 will fit the bill. I'd also see who followed the saints growing up. We need some more loyalty. Imagine Harley reid but followed the saints as a kid.

Let's say we get pick 9 and we give up pick 27 and a future first, we could then go to Fremantle and ask for Brayshaw and pick 30 and we give them pick 7 and pick 47. We get a quality all Australian mid and still have 2 first round picks in 8 and 9 and pick 30

I really hope we use all our first round picks on young fellas,please Saints no trading top ten picks. West Coast can keep pick 3 this year's draft is supposed to be a ripper and next year's not so good, how they know that God only knows also Hayes has real talent and I hope he stays,unless the club knows something we don't obviously. Really excited about the next 5 years. Go Saints.

That if we bid we force them to use pick 9 which isn’t ideal for them, he’s an academy player they don’t wanna pay that. They can match any bid with our 27 and pick him up that way.

NO to WCE pick 3 Get 2 top tier mids, not 1. Especially when theres no standout of the top 7/8 mids. 2 top mids and Tauru would be phenomenal. Hope we get ess pick. Makes sense for them if they got this hard on for Kako.
