The problem is that Bellinger hit .307 last year and that doesn't fit in with their hitting system.

From my understanding he had a shoulder injury that made him have to change his swing. I dont know about a long term commitment at big money to this guy. Maybe 4 or 5 years and maybe 20 to 25mil, anything more , to me, is a hard pass

Good point I wonder who helped him change his swing? Someone in the cubs org or outside swing coach? I know sounds ridiculous but I just don’t trust this Yankee coaching staff if he’s not dependent on outside coaching.

I’m so sick of the Yankees shopping in the bargain bin! They always seem to outsmart themselves when they think they’re outsmarting everyone else.. Soto has got to be the way forward.

Agreed. Wouldn’t mind having him but he will want (and probably will get) Judgeian type money. Contracts like that are hard to trade down the road. Just ask Stanton.

He’d be awful. In fairness most teams aren’t tasked with making the playoffs every year but either the Yankees have to do a proper rebuild next year or they have to go balls to the wall with FAs. The time to really go all in was a few years ago. We could all take rebuilding if Judge had a couple of rings.

The Yankees are going to do the same thing they keep doing. Going after the most budget friendly players regardless of how good of a fit they are or the injury history. This team is a dysfunctional joke. Any top FA with a similar offer from another team would be wise to avoid the Yankees.

Yankees have been number one in revenue for decades and haven’t lead in payroll in a decade. They need a $300 million in payroll because cashman made horrible decisions. They’re getting 25 million a year for the advertisement on the sleeve, donaldson is gone so they should add at least 50-100 million a year to the payroll.

Not a bad move but such a thin FA class he’s going to get someone to bite on way too long contract. Should have made moves when there was good infield FA targets and then used our infield prospects to trade for MLB outfielders who can hit. Judge/Cole window is rapidly closing Cash/Hal should’ve stomped on the gas pedal years ago and taken advantage. I fear Judge’s tenure turning into Don Mattingly’s captaincy.

The greedy players deserve the blame for the team not being able to get better. Why should the Yankees have to go over the tax threshold to pay losing teams that keep the money for themselves and not invest in their teams. I'm at the point of giving up on this team because Cashman has destroyed it with his ill advised trades for injured players for years. He needs to go ASAP

I like Bellinger but I don’t wanna pay too dollar for him. Before last year, his batting average was absolutely atrocious for years! I’d give up half the team for Soto in an heartbeat and then extend Soto.

isn't IKF's and Donaldson's contracts coming off? Thats like 30 million they arent paying just from those 2 alone. Still need to solve not having a LF. I think if they dont sign Bellinger they need to extend Gleyber

Yankees can afford $400 million a year in payroll. They’re the most valuable franchise in sports. The big addition is a light hitting outfielder? WTF ARE YOU SERIOUS? Oh and relying on a 21 year old to comeback after major surgery and play a big role? They shouldn’t count on jasson at all!
