Von's not actually a middle name. After looking it up, it's used in German to indicate lineage, particularly by nobles. Alucard Von Dracula would basically mean "Alucard of the Dracula family." My own last name, Van Orden, is the same thing but in Dutch. Though my family tends to treat it as one word for clerical purposes (Vanorden), technically our family name would just be Orden, which we are "of" due to our lineage. Disappointingly, it carries no connotations of nobility in Dutch.
