I was 5 when this aired and remember, "I got you" was played a lot on the radio and was on the charts for a long while. Best times, went to school the whole 80s decade and '91, '92 which still felt like the 80s.

Yes stkilda beat Essendon that weekend....but more importantly Richmond beat Collingwood that weekend... which of course was repeated in the grand final months later.so Richmond is still no.1 decades later

No. Gavin started in '79.

I watched an interview with Gavin would record in the last several years and apparently he was collared by somebody associated with the show maybe even been the previous over Voice and he was offered the gig while he was touring the studio
