920 is just sitting there. Go to 1000 first, then take the 80 off. So easy. 50*10*2 = 1000, 1000 - 75 - 4 - 1 = 920

For 720 I immediately thought of doing either 90•8 or 80•9 when I saw the numbers. And it ended up being 90•8. 6+3+1 = 10 10•4 = 40 50+40 = 90 90•8 = 720

There was an alternative way of finding 920, it was divisible by 8. 75+50-10=115 115x4x2=920

The 23 was actually not such a bad idea. Times 4, times 10. To avoid using the 4 twice, just get to the 23 differently: 75 minus 50 minus 2.

2nd one took me a while, but I got; 6-1=5 5x3=15 8/4=2 50-2=48 48x15=720 Just needed to find the right way to get 15 whilst leaving a 2.

735 looks difficult, but it is easy if you stick to the method: Divide by the highest two numbers first. 735 / 9 is easy if you have 720 in mind, and 735 / 7 is easy for anyone.

Mine was similar. Well beyond 30 seconds, but: 50-1 = 49 75*49 = 3675 10/2 = 5 3675+5 = 3680 3680/4 = 920.

They run far too quickly through the calculations. Both the contestants and Rachel. Take the 735 solution - Carol would have written it more slowly, and given the outcome of each step i.e 35 x 3 *= 105* then x 7 = 735. This is a growing problem in Countdown. Rachel needs to realise that not everyone at home is a Maths genius and the entertainment for us is being taken step by step through the process, like Carol used to do. She sometimes can’t even be arsed to write it down FGS, if she thinks the answer is ‘obvious.’

Pure arrogance by Viraj demonstrated in the last numbers game when he tried to be clever by making it complicated to achieve 920, when all what was required was [50 × 2 × 10] - 75 - 4 - 1 = 920
