Some corrections and notes: After purchasing NIghtvision a message pops up saying the green can be adjusted in the console with -nvgadjust and +nvgadjust . I kind of regret intentionally leaving this info out. Also I know they are useful in zombiemode I've been there, but main game wise not at all. "This was a feature that was developed for cs" is quite the misleading and stupid line I admit. I didn't know it uses trigger_camera from HL but what I was trying to say is there aren't functioning cameras in HL to emphasize how unique they are for cs.
@DeanAmx2 жыл бұрын
Hl was supposed to use trigger_camera until valve decided to make it full player control single player experience. Cs mappers just reuse their assets. The mappers be like “this can be recycled to be a real spy camera” Night vision was also useful for old cs maps since most of them are dark to promote the use of night vision. However its not working well so they decided to light up newer maps

i actually had some great experiences with nightvision. in 1.5 and 1.6 i mainly played assault and i always used it, because i could barely see anything on my shitty monitor otherwise. this translated into my source gameplay a few years later. i was so used to nightvision that i kept using it, even though i mainly played a dust2 only server every day. i was pretty good at the game back then, but immediately got a lot worse if i played without nightvision, so i always had it on and people started to notice when they spectated me. in the beginning they made fun of me, but after a couple weeks i became known as "the nightvision guy" on the server, and a few of the other regulars started to use it as well. it was like a funny insider meme in our community. somewhere down the line one of the other regulars created a clan and after a while most of us nightvision players were part of that clan and we spent more time together and became friends. now, 15 years later, i still have most of them in my friendslist and one of them even turned into one of my best friends in real life, because he only lived like 20 minutes away from me. great memories.

CS1.6's radar has few functions, but you need to use the radar and pay more attention to the position of your teammates at the same time. Instead, it lost its original game nature.

Originally separate ammo purchase could be done during game as well (by returning to base). Later there was a deadline timer for that. As a former highly competitive 1.6 player, the radar is anything but useless. To this day you cant see if a teammate is above or below you in CSGO/CS2, something 1.6 always had. You dont need a full 2D map of the actual map on the radar for it to work. As you play, you learn how to benefit from it

The purpose of the flashlight was to issue a formal challange to a knife duel by spamming it.

2:04 Depending on the Glock model, yeah the MP5 can share the same rounds as the Glock, both of them are a 9mm weapon system Also I say depending on the Glock model sonce the Glock 40 is 10mm or .40 cal. Honestly I'm not too sure

I remebmer people with no microphone have used flashlights to communicate with teammates. Like you could make signals with it as it had sound or point where to go/seat.

CS:GO used to have shared ammo. Valve realised this when they nerfed Tec-9 and it's ammo capacity. The feature was removed in the patch April 28, 2015.

cs_mansion. Ancient ass map. Also has cameras for CT, albeit not very useful ones. Also. Has light switches. If you flip em and buy NVGs, you can get advantage over those who haven't bought them and is stuck using shitty gold source flashlight because some corners will be #000000 dark. Gimmicky? Yeah. But personally I prefer game with experimental gimmicks over one that's been reduced to extremely optimized no jank, no fun allowed competitive rinse repeat arena that also hosts a dress up your gun for real money minigame. Also. Trains and on-the-rail cars that you could drive yourself existed. A carry over from original half life.

The old one is too classic and they are the best. CS GO dont have zombie games or death runs like CLassic had and that why I love it also remember Helm's Deep map. Absolute legend of a map. Also the kitchen where u tiny as mice and shooting around a kitchen, inside fridge. Those maps are super iconic and shall not forget the Simpson map.

Wait, new counter strike don't have night googles vision? Why? Joking apart, night vision was seen as top tech back in the 90's.

Bind your flashlight on backspace in 1.6 and hold the key, you'll end up turning on/off your flashlight rapidly annoying the whole server
