I pre-ordered the game and played it since day 1 until quitting around 2016. I remember the first year - a lot of people didn't like the game and went back to CS Source, and since many didn't like CSS as well, they went back to 1.6 too. It was indeed a failure as it struggled to reach the same number of players as 1.6 and CSS. Katowice 2014 and others like Dreamhack is what caused the massive surge in popularity.

The most fun aspect of zombie mod for me as a kid were both teams joining forces against the zombies

747, Estate, Militia, Siege, Back Alley and Prodigy were all in heavy rotations if you played this game in it's original days. I haven't played since 1.6. So I have no idea about how the game is these days but I assume it's just another microtransaction with annoying people on the microphones and OCD shit popping up everywhere ala the old Unreal...EPIC KILL!! LEVEL 5BILLION!!! OMG! I hate all that over done shit

The main reason I started it way back in 2006, was, after some talks with Kreedz, that if Valve EVER decided to kill bhop completely from CS1.6, that I would attempt to recreate it so we wouldnt completely lose the community. That never happened, but we continued to develop it anyway for a whopping 11+ years! Thanks to everyone who ever helped us with it, thanks to those who gave it a try whether you stayed or not, and a special thanks to Pete "Raptor" (the lead programmer) for sticking it out after the steam release and helping the avid fans with updates and steam workshop etc.

The only maps I remember here are cs_downed, de_fast and de_stadium. Stadium was my favourite out of the 3 so ofcourse I'll remember my GOAT stadium

if you like cs 1.6 is better if you like mg/ze/kz etc source is 10x better than all cs games. BTW source has better movement cyka you all

interesting to note here is that crossfire is like the popular version of counter strike for the philippines, i've seen many people play this game in computer shops ( internet cafe ) and i only play it to have fun in the obstacle course.
