Thanks for all you have done for the hobby ,over the years I have been watching your videos. Very informative again

Thank you for taking the time to do this. I trust your feelings on how the different plugs are doing. It sounded to me that they ran a bit different and I am guessing the longevity of the genuine O.S. plug would be better. I love the idea of buying O.S. plugs online but the majority I saw are copies. Good luck with whatever you do. You have such a great video data base of information for anyone to gain from. It has helped me so much for years now. Cheers from Sydney Australia

Thank you for the compliment! I entered the hobby in 1988.

There is a noticeably difference in performance, i'm pretty sure also gonna be a difference in how long it last compared to OEM glow plug, also some fellows from the field were having more deadstic landings, it's time to see if their glow plugs are the ones with stamped markings or by lasser. Thanks for sharing your experience and info!

Amazing to me why a company would take the time to counterfeit a glow plug, I mean how much profit is in that
@dmrcflyr29 ай бұрын
Apparently there is plenty otherwise they wouldn’t do it.

If you produce sub-standard plug for $1 and sell it for $3, there is some profit right there, but the public is not willing to pay more than that, knowing it is sub-standard. Now take that same plug, fake the logo and the packaging, (increasing the production cost to, maybe, $2), and sell it as an original for $10. There is much more profit in that. That is basically the economics of counterfeiting.

I understand that both plugs are perfectly usable. Perhaps a difference in adjustment in the high needle is necessary to equalize the performances.
@dmrcflyr29 ай бұрын
Perfectly useable. I guess. Did you watch the first video? So you would buy these plugs and continue to support bad and illegal behavior?

I’ve just discovered your videos and think they are great! I’ve been out of the hobby for 15 years due to illness. However, I’ve decided to get back into it. All of my engines are glow and I’m having a heck of a time finding glow fuel. What are you doing for fuel on your test runs? Thank for the info.

Thank you for subscribing to my channel. I think this video and associated playlist might be of interest to you. For now my local HobbyTown USA stills sells a very small selection of glow fuel, but for the most part I mix my own FAI and cut that will 15% nitro. kzbin.info/www/bejne/a6Gcpq1qbZeXi6ssi=sIfAhQlN9xEUQrTA kzbin.info/aero/PLsvn3JGZAOMuFBXHT90CCuriX37BatIKj&si=L5N0JQfabLkZddCG You can use the channel search feature to search for nearly any engine you have ever heard of and find something.

This is all very interesting but you can grab 10 brand new real o.s. plugs off the shelf and have variations in performance.
@dmrcflyr22 ай бұрын
The real point is that these are counterfeit. Now if you condon theft and fraud that is up to you.
@paulspomer165 күн бұрын
@@ejcm55 Not really. OS is superior in quality, consistency and performance as far as glow plugs go. They always run strong for me

The fake plug is rougher even in the second run, the rpm was hunting around all over the place.

How about adjusting the HS needle to max rpm with the chiense plug ?

A bit late for that. I stated my intentions and parameters for the test at the beginning. I will change parameters if I do another test.
