There’s no reason you should pay for the real ones the “counterfeit” ones are made the exact same bust a real one and a fake one open and compare the insides they are spot on more then the outside your only paying for the branding. Buy name brand tools and a cheap battery only difference is the money saved 🚀

I totally agree with the knock-off supporters. Same shit. If you ever own a Tesla and need a new battery, by all means get a Chinese knock-off. Same shit, just a whole lot cheaper! Just see if you can charge it at your neighbors house!

It does.. Although you only have to unscrew the bottom of the normal Milwaukee batteries. It's not like you can't open them easily.

I’m 100% sure they are both Milwaukee batteries. Sold by Home Depot. I bought two tool kits from Home Depot with exactly the same batteries. The one with a screw on the bottom came with a kit I bought on Black Friday. And the one without I bought about 1.5 years ago.

They did produce it like the fake one in this video. It was the older design that was copied. The date code and SN never change on the fake ones. The biggest indicator is we’re the headquarters is spelled wrong on the sticker.

Yep I thought they were real until I load tested it and took it apart. Run time is like a real 2.O and internally it has unbranded 2ah cells.

They are not Knock off's.. they are made in the same factory, except one gets shipped to USA, and the 2nd lesser quality gets shipped to poorer countries. Problems occur when 3rd party companies, or individuals buy from Chinese markets and import them to the USA. China makes batteries for Milwaukee, and behind Milwaukees back make the product in the same factory, but ship them outside USA to make profit.

The M in M12 looks like it was placed by hand on the “knockoff” but I guess it’s possible that other countries use a modified logo.

Bought an m12 high output 5.0 battery on an auction on eBay and it’s working great feels very strong but i noticed that it doesn’t have “high output” written at the base of the battery. Could it be fake?

BC up until recently Milwaukee sold them with the split case design. If you look up the 3ah on HD website u will see the split case.

Was this fake on stock on eBay ? I try to get them at reputable authorized dealers only also the reps won’t cover fake unauthorized purchase dealers so as a buyer I’m lossing more by not getting it new legit 🤔 I once got a aftermarket I knew it was aftermarket markings all fake but after a week that cells burn gave up on the tool one cell turn out death I couldn’t recharge so the whole battery pack was useless ! But this replica is insane perfect

I believe they came form amazon but I'm not 100%, I bought them about 9 months ago, all my other Milwaukee tools came from HomeDepot. I load tested the two fake 3.0s and they rate just like a real 2.0. 100% its insane how much this looks real!

What's even more funny is they were making fake 2.5s (the HOs) with the same part# since Milwaukee announced them, and far before the real product was even on store shelves. However the counterfeiters seemed to not realise the HOs have different plastic, finish, and writing on them; they just made them like other M12 batteries only saying "2.5" instead. Tons of this crap on the market unfortunately--Scamazon, Fleabay, etc.

According to video its easy for them to make pretty realistic fakes,Its a few videos about fake tools and batteries on yt and looks like they are getter better at doing it. If I know for a fact its REALI don't have anything wrong with ebay or Amazon either,just don't want Nothing messing my makitas up

I have a fake makita one on my makita impact driver for about 2 years and it still works and holds charge as good as new the insides ain’t much different you just have to pay them for their branding. But there is a chance you get one that was put together in someone’s basement in India and ends up frying your tool so I see your point I guess it would just be worth it too check into the seller and other’s experiences with the product

Give me a break Milwaukee tools and batteries are so goddamn easy to copy for the Chinese! This is just one example there are hundreds and hundreds of counterfeit brands floating around in China and shipped over to us. The only way to secure the original is to buy through dealer.

It's defiantly counterfeit, Milwaukee tries to stop them but as you can see its hard to tell the difference unless you really look close. Found a dewalt battery the same way and also a Makita.
