cp2.5 uses high discharge samsung 25s cells that are rated at 25 a continuous 25 amp discharge rate and the cp3.0 uses sony vtc6 or samsung 30q cells rated at 15 amps. Because of this the 2.5 will have more power and less voltage sag and will be superior in high power drain tool like the m12 stubby or the m12 circular saw and the m12 hammer drill. but the cp3.0 will be superior in low power draw tools like lights, heated gear and so forth.
@Factoryseconds1232 жыл бұрын
Cp2.0 is technically high discharge as well

What about heated gear on high, is not not considered high drain?

Why the discrepancy in runtime between the CP3.0 and XC3.0? If theyre both rated or advertised as 3.0Ah shouldnt the runtime be equal in theory? It wasnt even close!
@Tools-Tested Жыл бұрын
In theory yes, I believe the voltage drop because of resistance plays a roll in this. The XC can hold the voltage higher longer because it's using 6 cells instead of 3 in the CP allowing the XC to drain all the way. Were as the CP voltage drops faster and then the load shuts off, once the load is off I would expect the CP to have a better recovery vs the XC. If the load was 1amp I would expect the run time to be similar.

My CP3.0 and XC6.0 both have the same pink Samsung cells. They are the only 2 M12 batteries I have and need. I have 5 of the tools too. Thing is, I only need them for DIY and I only have 2 hands haha

Actually, if you do your temperature calculations in Celsius (e.g. set your zero point to the freezing point of water), then you will see a 22% drop in temperature vs. the CP 3.0.

Thanks man! I've gotten some very, very convincing fakes from both eBay and Amazon. They're scary close in appearance. I'm still not sold on these HO M12s. For 10$ more. I was skeptical to begin with given the size constraints m12 comes with. There was no way they were gonna fit 21700s inside. Awesome testing. Looking forward to the 5 vs. 6. That one may have some difference. But I'll stick with the 3.0 myself for the smaller dudes. Typical typos on the bottom sticker of the fake. Brookfield vs Brookidid WI. Update - there is a difference.
@Tools-Tested2 жыл бұрын
No problem! Yeah its crazy. I'm going to pull all of them down at higher amp tests and we will see if the 2.5 can run longer at that higher load. Thanks for the info on the sticker.

Actually, it's the new(ish) 25S. Much better under load than the old 25R. I just got my hands on some 20S cells and they are significantly better again than the 25S. I built a 3 cell CP pack with them and it powers even the circular saw as well as the 6.0!
@J.Wick.2 жыл бұрын
@@procrastinator1842 yeah. I corrected myself in another video. The updated video. 25s is quite superior to 30q. And I was thinking of 30T 21700s in the latter statement. Metabo HPT has had the 25S in their MV 2.5/5ah batteries for some time now. They bump up to the 40T 21700s for their 4/8ah battery. But yeah those have been around awhile.

Ok Yes your right the extra 10 is worth because of the Sony 18650 batts. Now I buy and use fake m12 batteries because I do a lot sawing in dirty spots and I pay 54 dollers for two 9.0mah batteries the only problem is sometimes the clips that hold it in break but I just have it exchanged and once it was to late so I bought another set switched the tops were the clip was and was able to get them replaced but now I have four 9 mah two 6 mah two 2.0mqh and one 4.0 that came with the saw

Would you recommend these? Just bought a impact driver and it comes with a battery but I wanted to order more for backup.
@Tools-Tested Жыл бұрын
I probably wouldn't order the Counterfeit fit ones. I do think the 2.5 is better then the 3.0 from my testing, but it really comes down to price. I will say you can find some decent deals on kits at HomeDepot right now.
