Check out the "explode" function. You can write the multiple voices for the sections on a grand staff, then explode the individual parts to each instrument.

if you haven't yet seen evan rogers' big band arranging guide, i'd recommend checking it out! there are a lot of valuable tips there regarding standard writing for big band; for instance, in swing, quarter notes are typically played short and so those staccato eighth notes on the beat could be replaced with quarter notes to be more readable at a glance. a lot of jazz articulations are standardized, and articulations are much rarer than in classical music, so telling a jazz musician to play a tenuto eighth note into a swinging staccato eighth note is kind of a given and a little visually messy. (of course, playback is important too, so you can just make stuff invisible) i think this series is really cool so far and an interesting dive into musescore's arranging capabilities! i am interested to see how it will turn out

Thanks for the tip. And the articulation advice. It would be interesting if musesounds could one day release jazz versions of some of these instruments that has that kind of articulation built in.
