Deception will eclipse our sinking sun, likening our form to silhouettes, when the light between us dims. Praying I could pull you out of hell… though you grew dependant on it’s warmth as you gathered bones from helping hands. In search of sedation: salvation sacrificed, replaced by the breath of strangled throats. A mutual disease in different forms: nourishing the need to escape from the curse of consciousness. Imprisoned by fixation, I understand your pain… surrendering to my own source of slow death. Grieving though you haven’t left my side, knowing that one day you’ll disappear… as I write a eulogy for those still here.

I actually love this direction that Counterparts is going. Still respects the fans and has the same core, but in my opinion, they're leaning even harder toward the emotional/melodic part of them, which always made me gravitate toward them in the first place.

This fucked me up so hard. Woke up early to listen to it as soon as possible and I haven't been moved so heavily by a song since like 2016. Absolutely in love with the record. Hot take: their best yet. The record literally screams "autumn city rain night" to me and I couldn't adore that more. I'm not entirely sure why it has this connection but it couldn't be any better, I love it with all my heart. Thank you counterparts for being what you are.

Listened to the album in the car this morning, and when this one came on I was immediately stoked for the singing and started crying. This album is so beautiful and sad. Whispers already gets me feeling some kind of way every time now. Love everyone in Counterparts. Kuma forever.

You pronounce eulogy as “you-lo-gy”. The way you pronounce it suggests the first letter is a y, even if it isn’t. Hence why you use a instead of an. There are a few words like this. Universe is another example.

This track is good. Saying that this is their best record for me is very far from truth. I’m a counterparts fan from the start, they are different from The others in this genre for a lot of reason and one is The intricate structure and the intersection of the guitar parts. This new songs are much more linear, with big power chorus. U can like it but it’s not as studied and refined as before. Years pass and it’s ok. I love them regardless.

I think this album is them more matured, like if you go from here back i think your right that they were a little more sporadic but that isnt necessarily bad, it shows potential to make shit like this but those "potential" albums themselves are gems. like saints never surrender's album "brutus" or shai hulud's "from that within blood ill tempered" both sporadic and beautiful but terribly produced albums with the potential to become something so amazing that you cant describe it to others who dont understand music.
