Another awesome video! Jumping guard was exactly how a guy at my gym broke one his legs less than a month ago - just a week after he got his blue belt.

The pummeling to release the top arm on the seat belt is key. Or breaking the connection and winning the inside as you get your head over at the same time. Loved the timing Kennedys escape against Roger. Move became a meme after the rogan episode. Sorta

100%, i had a bad experience with ego from the teacher side when rolling so i quit bjj, if u was close to you guys i would gladly start training again, i would feel safe and would be able to focus on learning and having fun :)

I wish her luck with recovery. I did the unhappy triad (ACL, MCL, Meniscus)in 2005. I’ve had 5 surgeries since between retear and clean ups. I currently don’t have an ACL or cartilage in my right knee. Actually makes kneeling very difficult. I get hyaluronic acid shots every six months so I can still run. Keep that leg strong and Motrin close by.

@@isaiahanderson3825 Yea rehab helped for sure. But I’m also a cyclist so that really built my leg muscles as well as cardio. Never do leg extensions again. Only squats and presses.

Spread the word about jumping attacks; they are dangerous. I know their are heaps of dudes out there that love that shit. Do it to each other. My worst injury was from someone jumping a shit guard on me.

Do you think Josh hinger front kick to the thigh to bring them down to headlock, is a safe technique.i feel it potential ly could aswell be very dangerous.

I think it's really good you guys are talking about the flying jumping stuff. It's already annoying enough to have to deal with that in competition but having to deal with training partners do that is beyond annoying. I hope people watch this and stop jumping guard (and Kani Basamis too)

here's a stupid question: if you guys don't train kani basami live, how do you guys get good at it for competition? Just via smart drilling I guess?
@nicholasortiz11163 жыл бұрын
Correct, drill the move safely and on your own time, when drilling you want to make sure that your partner doesn't move at all when you're going to perform kani.

I love their push for traditional stand-up and going for wrestling takedowns. It seems to be in an attempt for A) better Jiu Jitsu and B) to change the "game" a little bit. Jumping/pulling guard is lame as hell anyway, learn some good wrestling takedowns, Greco-Roman takedowns and some Judo basics and that will take care of your stand-up... And as we all know, Mexican Ground Karate will save you once on the ground! Lol
