Training with a D1 wrestler buddy of mine made my grappling so much better. First time i rolled with him i got absolutely LAUNCH. Ive never felt that time of pressure and straight up abuse on a mat before that haha. But after drilling singles, doubles, high crotches etc. I was able to get most BJJ guys down and secure a dominant position with ease
@pandapancakes373 жыл бұрын
Ya it's astounding to me how many bjj guys don't incorporate more wrestling into their training. A lot of guys I train with( from all levels) love to just pull guard cause they're not comfortable standing.
@connorperrett95593 жыл бұрын
@@pandapancakes37 I think it's mostly due to the rules of many BJJ events. If the rules of more events were changed to discourage most guard pulling and butt scooting then BJJ gyms would start teaching more takedowns and standing work.

This video has enlightened more about what gripfighting and movement from standing no gi should look like than anything I’ve ever seen.

Thank you guys for this ,9 years ago i was laughed at for having my son do both bjj and wrestle he was 7 years old now he is a16 year old blue belt hurting feelings up here in Dallas .

@@nottodaybucko Lots of Jits people back then did not see the need for wrestling this new breed of grappler is still new some old school bjj guys are stuck in there ways

Lol what? I’ve been training over 9 years and people that had wrestling on top of their bjj were always admired. Weird area you must live in.
@AlgerJ243 жыл бұрын
This is amazing to see wrestlers come in and teach. If you’ve never wrestled it’s hard to replicate that kind of pressure. So the knowledge these guys have to take it from the feet to the ground is money.

I'm an Aussie and like Isaac's said we don't really have wrestling here, it's a very niche sport and hard to find good clubs or coaches even in major cities. Wrestling is the logical choice for no-gi competition and compliments it perfectly without many modifications. Totally stoked to be able to see this. Not only because it's high level guys teaching but because it's free too😂

Jason Nolf one of the best in world...I watched every match in ncaa with him as they were happening. Loved it he reminded me a lot of David Taylor with the nonstop attacks and believe me if he wants you to go down it really doesn't matter who you are your going down!!! Love the fact they brought him in. They are learning from the best.

I agree with what he says at 21:15 I’ve always said to our guys in mma go for take downs on your feet, at least if you mess up your on your feet still, sometimes it real hard to get back to your feet from a failed shoot, and in a fight your getting whacked too, in grappling your neck is exposed to front headlock attacks or possible back takes ect
