I saw Counting in 2002 when OAR opened for them at UIC pavilion. Adam lost his shit on stage, dropped all his notes mid song, but his bandmates kept playing and improvised to make up for his breakdown on stage. I love Adam. True professionalism. 🎉

That breakdown on Round Here... we all know the song, but it's almost as if a new song is writing itself on the spot and Adam is just taking us along for the ride inside his head as the story unfolds... and we don't know the specifics but somehow we understand it completely anyway. Adam, I understand your affliction. Sometimes I tell myself I am the only one. But when I listen to your words, your conviction, I cry, and I know that I am not "damaged", or even damned for that matter. The energy you channel when you are creating your masterpieces gives me hope. Sometimes life itself-other people- words spoken (or not), are enough to keep me locked inside the place I refer to as home for days at a time. I don't completely understand this affliction. I call it hyper-sensitivity. Thank you for allowing me to see that there is SOMEONE out there who is hoping to find what I AM.

Got tickets to see Counting Crows in August. I should have watched a couple of these live performances before I did. I would have never bought the tickets. I am a huge CC fan from way back but the way Adam butchers these songs that I love is ridiculous. You can't even sing along if you wanted to. If I am going to see you live it's because I love these songs. Don't make them unrecognizable. It's like flipping the bird to your fans. Just sing the songs right!!!!!
@lwaves8 жыл бұрын
Not trying to be harsh but he IS singing the songs right. They are his songs (or the bands) and he can sing them however he wants. This is what he does when live. You may not like it and that's fine as your opinion but it's also your problem, not theirs. Personally, I love it when bands do something different with their live songs. It's what helps make it such a special and unique concert when you see them. If you want carbon copies of the album versions then go listen to the CD's or mp3's. Maybe you should have watched some concerts before you went to see them. They've always done it this way, right from the beginning and as a fan from 'way back' maybe you should have known that?

Folks complaining about the changes in arrangement probably have no idea of the Crows Deadhead roots and have probably never heard the Dead, and should probably not be considered fans as such. Or, they should just stick to bands that deliver stale, stagnant shit and not be in on the jam band situation, anyway :)
