I got tickets for their concert in Amsterdam in 2014 from the girl I was with then. Just weeks before the concert we had a terrible break up, just devastating for both. I was a complete mess and with my father diagnosed with cancer I had trouble handling things and went back to my ex girlfriend (for whom I broke up with to date the girl giving me the tickets). I went to the concert with her and I really enjoyed it, she didnt so much. After the concert while driving home my mother called me crying, my dad just died. The mental rollercoaster was complete then. Not long after, I broke up with my ex girl again and decided not to date any woman for a long while. Now more than 6 years later I am finally able to listen to the Counting Crows again. I really couldn’t do it all those years. Just listened to the first 10 minutes and I’m crying again. But it’s ok this time...

In a similar boat, I'm crying out loud but because Adam is ruining all of my favorite childhood songs right now, one after another. There's nothing wrong with singing songs differently than the recording, but drastically differently is a gamble. As part of one of the “big bands” that came up alongside the Crows, I can tell you they were and are one of the greats. They shouldn’t have been so good so quickly, but they came to take names and kick asses. I’ve heard them from front stage, back, and side so many times, and they still move me every time. I had some need for this tonight, and look what I find. Hey Adam, you’ll never see this, but if you’d like, I’ll sing my nervous breakdown at you and you can therapize😉 and bartend anytime. Hey, friends. Thanks for the interest! I was in a band called The Beaten Poets (often billed as Christopher Webb and….) that did a lot of gigging around the San Francisco scene in the early to mid 90’s. If you’ve ever heard of that band, you’re a serious music nerd. That’s why “big bands” was in quotes, along with the fact that we were merely two guitarists and a drummer. We chose correctly to not go with major labels (2 of us had parents in the music industry) and went with the indie label Flower Project. We released 2 records (CD’s): “Long Gone Season” in 1997 and “Spilling” in 2004 that are incredibly hard to find (check eBay or Amazon). We don’t have much of an internet footprint because of timing, personal issues, and generally not giving a shit. We lost my good friend and fellow guitarist CJ Watson a few years back, and I miss him every day. I recently obtained the full rights to the records during Flower Project’s demise, and am planning to reissue them on vinyl and uploading them to streaming platforms. We were fortunate enough to play around the Bay Area and tour with our friends in Counting Crows as they took off like a rocket ship. Those were amazing times, and looking back upon them, I wouldn’t trade them for anything in the world.🙂♥️

Counting Crows have been one of my favorite bands since I heard A Long December as a young'un... Back when Walmart still played music videos on the TVs in electronics. I'm ashamed to say I've never really thought to listen to any live recordings they've made. Adam... Round Here... Dear lord, where did all of that come from? My jaw dropped. The most emotional performance I've ever witnessed. A brutal waterfall of intensity and mad poetry. Fucking brilliance.

Put simply, this has got to be one of the best live performances ever recorded. Everything about the musicianship, energy of the band and songs are outstanding. I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve watched this show (wish I could have been there) and there’s plenty life in it to watch again and again and again.........,

The Counting Crows have been my favorite band since 1994. I saw them live last night for the first time in a long time. It was my 13 year old daughter's fist live show. They've still got it!

Brings high school back like it was just yesterday. Driving around after just getting my license and listening to this cassette in the car. One of the great albums of the 90s.

Adam could completely turn a song upside down and still make you feel drawn to him and the band. These guys are unreal. Just the chemistry alone is amazing...almost on an E Street Band level...almost :-)

ODDLY ENOUGH THEY WERE overshadowed by Nirvana at the time. Everyone was listening to Kurt and I was listening to this. I listened to both but this was my coming out of drinking phase.

Nirvana is great as are most bands from the 90s but for me no one will top Adam's talent.

This is music! I love this so much. I've liked Mr. Jones, Sullivan Street, and Round Here/Raining In Baltimore/Private Archipelago for ages, and have recently begun to get into Anna Begins, which really hits hard... so these live versions are amazing. I love the fact that they play differently at the live shows. It's refreshing.

"It's only in my head! I dunno, it just doesn't feel like it is in my head! I just wanted to come true!". What a fitting alternation. "Round Here" things sometimes seem to be so different, so horrifyingly different from what we expected life to be when our only heart desire was to stay up late. August And Everything After guides you through a melancholy time of leaving. People who leave, people you abandon, the very process of losing yourself, yes leaving life behind. And eventually it comes to that Murder of One. Where it's all about staying, but for the wrong reasons? This album is overwhelmingly profound and I thank you Adam, for your genius! Can't seem to open my eyes...

I was fortunate to share this live performance with my son. In a way I wanted him to feel something that somehow describes my life at the time, as is the case for so many of us. This is why this album is so incredibly emotional to us, yet so fucking amazing. Just fucking amazing.
