When the other party was in power, one of the minister’s brother used the government to take away a property that my family bought in 1974, and it’s worth in millions. We don’t have good political parties, only thieves who pretend to be politician.

They don't realise how expensive education in Western countries is or even how expensive it is at private unis. Even teachers go on strike asking for more. They get so many benefits from the gov, private and international school teachers don't get any of these benefits but the government school teachers demand even more. We have a good education system and health as they are free for every Sri Lankan. proud to be a srilankan, but having good literacy rate and better civic sense,cleanliness what are the accolades we achieved at international level..?? we are missing the big pic..unable to develop tourism post cease of war, still struck with maximum 2 million tourists market size.even so called poor country like cambodia crossed 6 million mark and aiming 7.5 mio by 2021. do we aware of such data.? cost, infrastructure and amenities for tourists are bad. we cant even find good decent place to have food out of colombo, even in so called little england nuwaraeliya. best country for quality and access to all type of food is in india, malaysia. we dont have good public transport system, unlike malaysia or india. malaysia cost of living is less than srilanka. being a developed country. srilankans we have good communication skills than other Asian countries, but what leverage we had taken out of that skill.. our basic healthcare is better than some countries , but not advanced unlike india or singapore thats we fly to those countries for better treatment. we can prosper faster if politicians stops nepotism, discrimination and allow performance and talent to fill all key positions in govt sector irrespective of language ,religion, ethnicity, gender etc.. with 21mio population, only 2 languages, good literacy rate , cleanliness , friendliness, better civic sense. wow srilanka.sleeping giant needs very aggressive action for growth. .

You've got this completely wrong. Sri Lanka's 2M tourists per year is not bad when compared to a known and popular destination like India, which has around 8M visitors per year. I believe, in terms of tourist infrastructure and hospitality, Sri Lanka is much ahead in the tourist industry than its neighbors. Although 2M visitors is decent for Sri Lanka, it is still not a well know tourist destination until the recent 2-3 years. I believe this will double in 5 years time. And remember, tourism is a fragile industry, and a resourceful country like Sri Lanka shall NOT have it to be one of the top industries in their economy.
