Yeah that's all well and good, but 2019 to 2022 happened. The US Dollar went from 160 to 365 Sri Lankan rupees within 3 months. People had to get in line for gas, LPG (cooking), and other essentials. There are still rolling power cuts almost every day, and the situation is not getting better. It's all held up with twigs and twine.

This video clip had been done six months ago. As a Sri Lanka I would like to know where we stand today (January 2023). Until free economy was started around 1980 our rulers were much more genuine than the present corrupt herd. Since 1980 s money greedy people came into our politics. Free economy was totally misunderstood !! Sri Lanka would be much ahead of other countries in the region IF genuine people came into politics. The european colonial powers didn't just come here. They knew how rich this country was with its natural resources. They robbed us according to their wishes. The British developed the infrastructure by building roads, starting the first railway service in Asia, etc., etc.. All this they did was to their own advantage ! I would like to ask a very mean question: Had they known they would leave by 1948, would they have done so much?
