Country Homemaker Week in the Life | It's Time to Choose a Mother of the Groom Dress

We are in our last week of homeschool for the year and have a whole lot of activities for the week. One that I'm putting a lot of importance on is choosing my mother of the groom dress. I'll show you my three picks and hopefully you can give me some feedback on which you think is nice. All three are from ‪@macys‬ and I have to say their selection was top notch. Which ever dress you feel most comfortable in. It’s hard to be uncomfortable in your clothing all night long. I like the black the best. Black is my comfort zone.

Such pretty dresses....you have great taste, Jennifer. My vote would be to keep the gold one for your ceremony dress but also keep that beautiful floral dress for 'occasions'. It would be beautiful for wedding/baby showers, as a guest at a summer wedding or a romantic summer dinner date with Warren or a future mother-son dance date at home-school co-op events along with a shoulder-covering shrug. You've worn a dress with that same neckline before and it was so flattering to your beautiful self. Sorry that salad was 'meh'. We've all had to get through those. I like the black dress for the wedding!!! Wear the flowered one for the bridal shower. Gosh, that Maria is beautiful like her Mama!!!! Oh and save the goldish white dress for Amber's wedding!

All 3 are very nice. Something to consider is how hot black can be in the summer. Also, consider how comfortable of a shoe can you get to wear with whatever dress you choose.

I think the floral would be beautiful for a shower. My vote is black for the wedding! It’s not as if you’re wearing the same exact dress you did at Emily’s wedding. Awesome bike, Joe! Look at you go! My oldest daughter just married. I was stressing out about finding a dress. She was stressing out about everything, so they decided to elope ❤ I really like the gold dress . What an exciting time for your family.

For Mother's Day I told my son not to buy me flowers and he said ok. He came home from work that day with a bouquet and told me they were from his co-worker, Alonzo who thought I should have some flowers. It was so sweet and technically my son didn't buy them. Lol I love that floral dress. My next favorite would be the black one. But I wish we could've seen them on you to make a better judgement.

My #1 dress pick is the black, 100%. Next would be the floral, I think it is very feminine and pretty. I think since Nick's wedding is in the July, the floral would be so fitting for a summer wedding. You could also maybe keep one for Amber's wedding next year. I don't really like the gold. But, that might all be different once it's tried on of course. I think you need to decide based on what you feel most beautiful and comfortable in, and which you like the look of best when worn.

The black is stunning! The gold probably doesn’t translate well over the video but I cannot unsee the inside of a lunchbox. That weird liner that’s silver and crinkly… the floral is lovely but I agree it seems it would wash you out too much. Black is the definite winner for me.

I say try them on at least the black and gold along with your husband and get the kids to take a picture of you two. Then you can see what you look like really in it and if you look good next to him. You will be taking pictures at the wedding. Maybe this will help you make up your mind. You may find you don’t like the top or sleeves of one of them just because you like the coverage of the midriff. I would keep all the dress’s if it don’t cut into your budget. You’ve already spent the money for them if your ok with it keep them. You’ve already spent the time and effort in shopping for them, trying them on and buying them. They aren’t going to ruin, you will have something already in your closet for your next function. Take a picture it will help you!

Hi Jennifer, last year my niece got married and all the guests were to wear all-black. So I went to a bridal shop and found thee perfect dress for me. Now mind you, I'm not skinny, BUT this black dress fit perfect and it looked really great with my curvy figure and happens to be the exact black dress you have. Just the fabric is different. It is hard to decide when we didn't see you wear them. I would say to wear the gold(depending on breathablity) to the first wedding and the black to the second. Wear the floral dress to church.

The floral is my favorite! However, they are all very pretty. I can’t imagine having to get dressed up right now, me personally. I’ve gained a lot of weight and I never dress up. part of my working career was in a wedding/ party/bridal and grad boutique here in Tbay. I worked there 10 yrs after retiring from social work. I cannot stress enough about having quality undergarments. Regardless of anyone's size. If you don't have good quality undergarments( bra, panties ect. as beautiful as a dress is. shape wear nowadays is so comfortable too. Just my two cents. The dresses are beautiful ! Hard to say, colour is a preference and shape wear is key. Show us when you try them on !Can't wait to see and thank you for sharing. Peter. The flowers are so beautiful. 1) Black, 2) Gold, 3) Floral. Those are the order of my choices. Having said that, I think I would at least keep both the black and the gold. Since you love both of those dresses, you could wear one to Nick's wedding and save the other one for Amber's wedding. I like the floral one as well, and I think you would find plenty of good places to which you could wear that dress. Maybe keeping all three makes sense.

I so enjoyed this video Jennifer!! The Northern Lights at the end were just spectacular!! Thank you so much for sharing! It was rather cloudy here in central Indiana and I could see some pink colors through my phone lens but not very much else. Wasn’t this something for us to be able to see them at all?? Amazing! Looking at your dresses, I absolutely love the floral one!! It’s just sweet, soft and so beautiful! If the wedding is very formal, then I would recommend the black one ( it actually looked like a shimmery gray on video) but the soft, feminine one is my first choice if the wedding isn’t a classic formal wedding. I hope you find/choose the one that just makes you feel BEAUTIFUL!! This is what matters most!! 💖💕💝

I just learned recently that it is not necessary to boil water first when making pasta! Isn't that something? It takes the same amount of time to make. Just put pasta in pan of water, bring to a boil and then time it like it says on package

What time of day is the wedding. The charcoal and the ivory sparkley look more afternoon, evening. The floral, looks like earlier in the day and more casual. Rehearsal dinner maybe. I would have to see all three on, but lean toward the charcoal-black.

Hi Jen I wanted to share with you some information I found out about Aldi, I shop there every week but I will look at the ingredients more carefully now. I just saw a video where she showed a number of Aldi products had bioengineered mentioned in the ingredients list, packaged salad was one of the products she showed, sour cream and onion patato chips, fruit bars just to name a few.

OMGosh at first glance, I thought your title read "Country Homewrecker Week" lol. Macy's brands never dissappoint. I love all 3 dresses and it sounds like you may need a selection in the future. Since they fit well, if possible I would keep them :-). I hope Maria's foot has healed. Bad Mom Story: I made Rachel walk on a broken foot for 7 days! Her teachers convinced me that she was fine, but I knew she wasn't a complainer. Needless to say, she had a few extra treats while the bright pink caste was on. As Joe would say, "Don't judge me!" :-). Congrats to Maria on her Presidential Award! Gonna make your taco salad for the girls this week

No judgement at all. Sam went 4 or 5 days with a broken hip before I took him in; he was still walking, just slower. I took him in when it wasn’t getting any better after all those days. And wait until the next video ; there’ll be a Maria update. I’m not a homewrecker and I stand by that!!😁
