Is there a different from this country swing to hustle. We do exactly what ur doing and we call it hustle

Good question! There is syncopated hustle, what some might call the real hustle, then there is a 4 count hustle that is often taught because it's slower and a bit easier for dancers to learn. If you look at country swing compared to 4 count hustle you could say its very similar. But even a dance with similar steps, jitterbug, single time swing, hustle, country swing, disco fox ect... will end up looking very different depending on the music and style of the dancers in each community. It's actually very interesting. Hope that helps a bit. Happy dancing, Brian

East coast swing is much more popular. The younger crowd does this type of swing that you are are showing with no sense of rhythm and as many lifts as they can fit into one song.

Hi Patty, Yep east coast swing would be more popular world wide for sure. There are pockets of dancers (especially country bars) where country swing is the dance of choice. You're right as well that sometimes there is a lack of structure to the dance. (I'm sure many high level ballroom dance professionals might say the same about our social dancing lol) Country Swing can have a rhythm structure and it can be very versatile. It can be done to many different speeds of music (unlike ECS) Finally lifts are a popular thing among the younger crowd in many dance halls (although lifts have been banned in lots of bars and halls) but we're trying to promote it as an easy to learn fun dance for all ages. Thanks for your input and happy dancing!!! -Brian
