Getting country swing dancers to learn timing and rhythm at the beginning and not later or never, is a whole movement and I love it and want to be part of it (and I am almost brand new to learning any kind of dancing).

And that is the mission! (Movement sounds good too)

I was at the World Country Dance Competition in Arizona last month, and I wish they had invited you two to teach. I love your count, slow quick quick. There were other instructors there that taught Country Swing as a 6 count. Everything one beat. I can't wait until there is a unified count. There is another famous instructor on line that teaches it as single counts as well but an 8 count instead of 6. After trying it all the various ways, you two have my vote.

You have no idea how much I loved the boot camp. I've been telling everybody about it. My husband was so sad to have missed it. The 2 of you are absolutely the most extraordinary people and fantastic instructors and beautiful beautiful dancers

Learning it all at once is a struggle, I have struggled to find my internal metronome for a year. I do agree that all of it matters, but the most important part is having fun. I've almost quit a couple times due to frustration. If I could start over, I'd have spent more time developing rhythm before getting too far down the learning path.

You both are very informative about your dance move. I strongly believe I can really catch on too those country dance steps. I'm a fast learner.🙃
@countrydancex3 жыл бұрын
You could and should totally make it happen! In all the years we’ve been teaching, we’ve never met anyone who took lessons, learned to dance, and then said “I wish I didn’t know how to dance” 🤣

@@countrydancex Thanks..im definitely working on it. Ha ha! 😄Once they knew how too make those dance moves & turns they probably went into shock.. To me it's a challenge those twist & turns will get ya!! I would probably say the same thing when I learn how too do those lovely country moves. " I wish I didnt know how too dance" lol l9l😅💃You both have a great long weekend. Will be looking forward into seeing the next video.🙏💙💓

Question: you've talked about the footwork pattern being a slow quick quick, translating that into a count would that be a 1 & 2? Or are you using a full 4 count for that?
@countrydancex3 жыл бұрын
Typically, it would be a full 4 counts per half of the pattern (8 counts total). Slow equals 2 beats, quick equals 1 beat

The main issue with country swing is the never ending danger I see the ladies mainly being put into at the local country dance spots. Practically dislocating womens shoulders by yanking on them tremendously hard and witnessing so many women getting dropped on a hard floor sometimes on their head/ faces. Im for all dance but no dangerous dance.
@countrydancex3 жыл бұрын
We're with you on that. The dance has a lot of potential and we're trying to change that. No matter how great a car is, it'll still be dangerous with a bad driver behind the wheel. Blame the driver, not the vehicle haha

@@countrydancex I agree 100 pct. You and Rose are amazing and your teaching is just as amazing. Keep the great videos coming!! And most of all, thank you.
