Not in my budget for sure, but from the research I've done they are probably the most efficient. Id run my wiring however I wanted especially being off-grid and not connected to the main structure. Too many rules and not enough truth now a days.

Doing it hard.. get a plastic box. Cut holes to suit and screw the box right in under the unit and run your confuit into the box and wires into the unit.

You don't need conduit for your low voltage wiring. You can buy double insulated 2.0 cable of your concerned but if it's 24 or 48V there really isn't any danger of electrocution.

Thanks for sharing Eric. I ran into the same conduit fitting issues when I installed my Multiplus-II 5kVA inverters. I ended up grinding down some of the threads on the fittings to barely, and I mean barely getting them to fit. It would be nice if they did accommodate for conduit connections. I completely agree though, it can look like a complicated system just because there’s more components, but I do think it’s a very easy install. Looking forward to the next part! Thanks!

For 4g sheathed cable, you can get it. Look for 4-4-4-6. Big box stores only carry in full spools so go to a local electrical supply.

I watched everything you did and I disagree that what you did was easy. 😂 if I do any solar, I think I will stick with an all in one like the 18k or similar which actually seems easy. Nice thorough explanations though.

Lol. It is easy. I mentioned why I am using this system for this application in the intro video to this series. I love the 18k but it will not work for this type of setup.

Just curious, I’m a solar noob. Did you consider a EcoFlow Delta Pro for this project? It’s plug and play. I bought two EDP, a smart home panel, a dual fuel generator and 4K of EcoFlow panels 400w x 10. Ground mount from signature solar, based on your recommendation. I’m loving it so far. 😊
@CountryLivingExperience
@CountryLivingExperience 11 ай бұрын
Hello. Glad you are liking them but no I didn't consider one of those. While they are simple, they are not that powerful for running anything more than emergency loads for a short time. The battery life is just too short and they would not handle the loads that are in my barn....well, jet pump, table saw, chop saw, 120v welder, etc.

I have the Victron 450/100 and the Cerbo GX and looking to move away from the Ecoflow Delta Pro and smart Home panel but not sure what else I need to add to the system. Basically what victron piece can replace the Ecoflow Smart Home panel? Is that the multiplus?
@CountryLivingExperience
@CountryLivingExperience 3 ай бұрын
Looks like the EcoFlow smart panel is just a glorified sub panel with a transfer switch. The multiplus will be the inverter that you need, yes. That will replace the Delta pro.
@tlteal
@tlteal 3 ай бұрын
@@CountryLivingExperience correct, the smart home panel is a transfer switch with some smarts in it. the ecoflow delta pro is a battery, MPPT and charger all built into one. I'm trying to move away from their ecosystem one piece at a time and move to the Victron system. BTW, thank you for the kind reply! So I would need one of the multiplus II ? i noticed they have 8k and 10k version..... is that new since the 5k?
@CountryLivingExperience
@CountryLivingExperience 3 ай бұрын
@@tlteal You're welcome. I don't know how much power you need for your house so I can't recommend a size of Multiplus inverter for you. Also, do you need 120/240 or just 120? How many panels do you have? What batteries will you connect? There is a lot to figure out before suggesting something. Is this just a backup system or do you want to go off-grid full time?
@tlteal
@tlteal 3 ай бұрын
@@CountryLivingExperience Very fair. I already have plenty of battery backup. Around 20kw worth. I think I just need to add the multiplus II or two of them and I'll be good. Thanks.
@bruceeverett5372
@bruceeverett5372 Жыл бұрын
Nice video. I do have a couple questions-- Are these inverters programmed to produce a 240v supply? Without an AC input you won't of course have the "grid assist" feature so you're really have 6000VA, (actually 4800 watts total due to the deceptive Victron PF ) So I'm wondering why the 4 gauge output wiring. Are you using 4awg for a specific reason (super long run) or did you just have a lot of it already? Victron makes really great and durable stuff, buy once, cry once!$$$ Looking forward to seeing the 'project completed' video soon! You make excellent videos.
@CountryLivingExperience
@CountryLivingExperience Жыл бұрын
Thanks. Each inverter is 120v so you need two of them for 240v split phase. I have a very long run from the inverters to the main panel in the barn so I am trying to limit losses in the line with the 4awg.
@mdinning123

@@mdinning123 I didn't look into that. I worked with the Victron designer at Signature Solar and he recommended the two multiplus's for the loads that I have.

@@CountryLivingExperience thanks. Fast response. I am in the middle of your video. I like the Victron approach for repairs (not all in one units). I know it is much more cost with them. Had you looked into Sol-Ark in the systems you have done (EG4 or Victron)?
@CountryLivingExperience
@CountryLivingExperience Жыл бұрын
@@brentjohnson6654 Systems with different components are much better for repair for sure. Luckily Victron products are also almost bulletproof. I still like my EG4 system in my house and the Growatt's that I had before. I never looked at SolArk initially because of the high cost. I have friends who have them and like them though.

Maybe you can help me I'm looking for someone that can help me install my small solar power system that I have on my box van I need someone in Washington that's familiar with a viltron energy solar charge controller and distributors going into a 48 volt inverter it has 5 solar panels on the roof each are 370 watt for as total of 1850 watts all together. So do you know anyone in Washington state that can accurately hookup this system???

By early next year I would like to build a solar system for added use to my home, I use about 1800 kwh here in south Mississippi how big of a system should I start with and I agree on starting out with Victron . My other question is can a solar system be shared with two homes
@CountryLivingExperience
@CountryLivingExperience Жыл бұрын
@@mikeremillard5414 So you are using on average 60kWh per day. The size of system will depend on your budget. Do you want to start smaller and add over time? Do you want to go off-grid, want a hybrid system, want to be totally grid tied? There are so many questions you will need to answer for yourself first. Is the second home included in that 1800kWh? A second home could be added but it will be more complicated electrically and would need an electrician to sort that out because you would have two main service panels to deal with.
