note: the proper way to build a soffit is to put a leger board on the wall that is level to the bottom of the truss and then your soffits will be level and not slanted. They also should have vents in them.

@bakednoodle2732Күн бұрын
Correct me if I'm wrong but if you use ridge vents, you have to have soffit vents if you are going to put insulation in between the rafters. To use a gable end vent, you would need to have the insulation laid down on top of the ceiling, like blown in insulation.

Whoo hoo! So glad you are almost there! Only one door left to figure out and get installed! Would a garage door work in that opening or is it too narrow? I forget the width of the opening. Maybe use a double door that opens out in the center and would be safer using a lock for security. Just an opinion, not criticism.🤔

Do you know what the percentage of rain means? It's not the probability of receiving rain. It's that 15% of a certain size of land WILL receive rain. So, you must be in that 15% that will definitely get it.
@kar7022 күн бұрын
I’ve never heard that, but it’s very interesting. I guess that explains the weatherman’s bad reporting. I used to tell my kids when they were little be a weatherman and you can be wrong or right and still keep your job😂
@paulvanhouts33652 күн бұрын
Good morning Rox and Ant, just a thought about your roof venting. I like the ridge vents that I have seen, still there needs to be some vents on the underside of the soffits to allow air in ,so air movement is more efficient in removing the summer heat. I know you want it air tight and what you have done I’d going to be close. Just kicking around other considerations that will matter when it comes to mould prevention. It’s looking good and you will always know what went wrong even after you sorted it but it may not be obvious to others who didn’t see the build details like you did. Take care and stay safe.

@Rebecca-q6wКүн бұрын
I don’t know if this is anything that you would need to do but once you put the door on the tool shed side and the wall up between the two rooms, and then when everything is ready to move your food in, would you need to put a bug bomb in there first in case there were little bugs in there laying eggs during the construction days?? 🤔
