Oh Todd... I love how you talk to us and to yourself. I thought I was the only one who does that. The boys coming in and checking on you- too cute. However, Squirrel just stole my heart this video. Her purring and wanting to be held just made me smile. She knows she is so loved just like the boys and reciprocates. Tyler you do a great job editing and just shaking your head at Todd and some of his shenanigans. What a great couple you are. Yes I think the room does add value. I'm straight and all I can say is having an organized storage/work space in a bright clean room where you don't get the basement heebie jeebies is priceless and there is nothing gay or ADHD about that, it's just practical! Love how all the animals had to check in on Todd. Rooms like that convey to potential buyers that you cared for the place and went the extra mile to maintain the house down to the storage room. With that said, if Todd ever breaks out a label maker to identify each and every shelf, then we might be talking ADHD or OCD. LOL Seriously though, I wish I had half his energy.

I love all your big projects but "smaller" things like this actually make me so happy to watch! Yeah it's added value to the house or whatever but the small things like this getting cleaned up and just put together nicely is such a quality of life upgrade too. You don't always have to think about all the steps it takes to get something or to clean it or anything because it's all easier now with having it painted and reorganized! I love this kinda stuff so much! You did a really good job on this, even if it might seem small in comparison to everything else going on.

A loving suggestion. When you work on the floor you really should be wearing knee pads. As a retired wallpaper installer, knee pads would have saved me a lot of pain in my old age. Preventt knee injuries.

I saw a tip once that made so much sense to make sure that the various tools and stuff get put back where they belong so they are easier to find. Draw the outline on the wall where you are storing them. I label the items and here they live. I label the bins and their location on the various shelves in the different rooms, shed,garage and that goes for every room possible.

I visited a shop that had the outline of hanging tools, hammers, saws etc. (They had extra people working summers.) Not only was the shop organized, the ‘signage’ encouraged putting things away without having to remind people. (decades later and I still want to have appropriate tool ‘signage’ above the workplace in our home garage!) My husband smiles… 😊

I suggest you buy some wrench organizers for your tool drawer so you don't have to dig through the pile of wrenches to find the size you're looking for. Same for screwdrivers and anything else that comes in a variety of sizes.

Forget resale value--the value it brings to you as the current homeowner is sometimes beyond calculation. Makes you feel better about your space. My Dad was a railway station agent back in the 60’s and CN came around and built bomb shelters at all the stations. There was a hand cranked air purifier and power generator, a urine purifier ( not sure what we were supposed to do with #2🤢) , metal bunk beds in probably a 10x12 room and some canned goods , dried food. At the time I was just a kid and thought it was amazing but…..there’s no way it would have worked for long and we were supposed to stay inside for 10 years and use the “ clean” soil under it to plant food. No way we’d have lived for .10 years in that setup. 😂

Yes, Todd added value to the property, did a masterful job of organization as well. But what I see is an area that previously would have been avoided because it was messy and depressing. Cleaned up, painted, additional lighting and easy access to tools, make it a good work space, as well as easier storage. Just one speculation about the pegboard: when will Todd decide to paint an outline of each tool so they’re easier to return? Great example of using the creativity of ADHD to best advantage.

I think it's a great improvement! Resale value aside, it's more usable and pleasant for you, which is worth the $300. The one suggestion I would make is to flip the way the big freezer door opens so you don't have to walk around and get trapped behind it when it's open. Plus you'll be able to easily pull things out and set them on the counter behind you if you need to rearrange or pull a lot of things out.
