Looking great! Seems like these are working out well for you - love it when a plan comes together.

Suggestion on the bolts sticking out where the 4 beams are attached to the green treated posts--- if the nut and bolt are going to be in the way of any siding, I suggest removing 1 bolt at a time, turn it around and put it back in and they you wont have them sticking out. Also I noticed a whole in a rafter where a knot used to be.. I would suggest sistering another rafter next to it to add more strength to it.. It probably not a big deal unless you get a lot of weight from snow load.

Looks great and I think I can see where you’re going with the design, accept I still can’t figure out how you will use the grain bin unless you will put it on top ?
@UKCG_2Ай бұрын
The new structure has a sloped roof, so placing it on the top wouldn’t work.

@@UKCG_2 Also the wooden poles and wood on top would never support the weight of the grain bin.

I would not take any pole braces off till you tie your corners bracing together. If a heavy wind would come up with what you have on the roof, it would snap your poles.

@patriciahagedorn5694Ай бұрын
Old lady here. Is the grain bin going to be sitting on the slab when you move it? The trusses don't look tall enough for the grain bin to fit underneath. Are you taking the grain bin apart to move it? I thought at one point you mentioned it would be moved in one piece with a crane. Just a little confused how this move is going to take place.

For most people a dream is just that, a dream. A dream should be considered something extremely hard for that person to achieve if ever. When you start accomplishing dreams easily they are more goals then dreams. Personally my dreams never change but my goals do. Literally just achieved a dream ive had for 25 years im 39. Thats what i consider a dream. Like i said no hate here, I was justing trying to bring little humor on a not so good situation, with your occupation your dreams are more easily achieved than most peoples.

LOOKING GREAT!!! You're killing me Jason 😂😂 I think the square shoulder on the carriage bolt is designed to dig into the wood post side not the steel side. I think the bolt and nut sticking out will get in your way down the road. I watch crew of Amish construction guys stand up something similar and they put the boards in first and had scissor lift rather than boom like to put in the meat bracing. Looks like you found the built-in power plug on the lift basket, those are sooo handy. BUT as always you got it done your way and it turned out nice.🤘

@marcelletreu8400Ай бұрын
Nice dreams can easily turn into nightmares and normally it is not funny. Good luck seeing this one loaded onto a trailer and driving off into the sunset through that cattle gate. Reminds me of one of our 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 family gems. A handy uncle who, after building his own caravan in the early 60's, excitedly packed up for some seaside camping over the festive season, only to find upon leaving, the thing can't get through his gate!

I wouldn’t trust those 4x4 or 6x6 posts to handle the weight of the roof system! You need to clad them with additional 2x material! I wouldn’t step foot on that structure unless I had that complete and the walls in place! What’s the plan for the end walls? I also think that the posts, much larger, should have been placed on top of concrete footings. That weight is going to cause those posts to sink considerably. The building is only as strong as the foundation. Good luck.
